TT/ cartridge recommendations $1000
sorry, psychic - no way i could drop $1k on a gnu 'table, when so-much-better sound can be had w/a used 'table. and sure, a 1200 may be cool looking & chick-friendly, but have ya seen an oracle lately? ;~) regards, doug s.

Multipurpose floorstander speaker
there's currently a pair of thiel 3.5's & 3.0's adwertized here on a-gon, asking $900 & $750 respectively. hard to come close to real 20hz-20khz full-range sound w/the soundstaging of these guys at anywhere near the price, imo... but, they...

cornfedboy, i usually agree w/yer comments, but not this time - as the best, most expensive full-range speeks usually come *standard* as monitor/sub set-ups, i don't tink yer argument holds much water here. i tink coherency of sound is *much* easi...

Are Tuners - Audiophile quality
dcaudio,i live in jefferson, md - about 60 miles nw of dc, towards the bottom of the western side of a ~1600' ridge. w/my roof-mounted aps-13 antenna, and an onix bwd1 w/soap power-supply, i get *excellent* audiophile sound from dc. but there's on...

rick, see my prior post for how to get an o-l modded arm. and, like the rb900, the rb300's bearings "are" better than those in the rb250, but the structural mounting of the 250 is completely different from the other rega arms. so, the mods improve...

Will Internet Distroy High End ?
internet will change the retail behaviour, not yust for hi-end, but for *all* retail. dunno what the final results are, but retail as we know (knew?) it is history. longplate's example can be repeated w/most *any* commodity. dds-hifi may be headed...

Improving imaging
i tink the room is the most important component. unless someting is physically wrong w/yer system/set-up, the fact that yuve changed this component recently, w/yer consequent results, encourages me in my belief. the *next* most important component...
