integrateds in the modern age: consensus?
I would say definitely not, and it totally depends on the system. It is all precieved value as well. If an integrated cost 5000, and that's all the consumer has room for on their shelf, they may feel it is of a higher value. As far as sound qualit...
Best Used Bang for Buck if I Finally SWITCH ?
Both platforms have their uses. I use PC everyday, but not by choice. I was raised on mac and that's where I did most of my video editing, digital imaging, and web design. Macs perform these functions better than PC. Mac don't crash nearly as much...

Synergy plays an important role, and I think that with your speakers, musical fidelity is an excellent choice. Everybody has their favorite flavor, MF is my favorite, especially with your speakers.
BEST match for B&W Natilus 802s
I know two people very happy with 802's and musical fidelity. Both happen to be using the KW500 integrated. One has a pair of Nautilus, and the other has a pair of Diamond. Either way, that would be one line I would consider if I were you. The oth...
Integrated with Excellent Phono Stage
I'd look for a musical fidelity A3. Great integrated, and a decent phono stage. Can be had for about 600 bucks.
why spikes under speakers???
Get me into trouble? Yes, I could cleary see how posting on an audio related forum could get me into trouble.... It's clear by your response you believe you are much more intelligent on this subject than me, so we'll leave it at that....
why spikes under speakers???
There's a second class????? It's amazing they let engineers graduate without going through the second class! We can argue all we want, but at the end of the day, my setup sounds better with spikes.
why spikes under speakers???
Suspending a speaker by ropes is the same as using spikes. You just validated my point. You are using points to keep the speaker up, just like you are when you use spikes. A cell phone is a fine example. In both situations, you have two enclosures...
why spikes under speakers???
Actually, woofers can move enclosures. Try putting your cell phone on vibrate mode and set it on the counter. Watch what happens when it rings. It doesn't stand still..
why spikes under speakers???
When a speaker produces sound, a driver moves back and forth. It takes energy to move that driver. If an enclosure is not secured to the ground in some way, the moving driver will also cause the cabinet to move slightly. When the driver causes the...
Bryston VS Musical Fidelity
Here's my take on warranties.. Craftsmen hand tools offer a life time warranty. And they get a lot of warranty claims, all the time. They can afford to offer lifetime warranty because the tools are not real expensive to build. Mac, or Snap-On, don...
Speaker Wire for a non-anal listener
I'm using Audioquest Type 4 factory terminated by banana. I think I paid just over 100 bucks for a ten foot pair. It's very good wire for the money. I'm not stuck on brand names when it comes to wire, I know there are some that say Audioquest isn'...
Speakers slipping on speaker stands
If you don't want to use blu tack, you can use cabinet door bumpers. The clear ones, they are about 1/8" and have adhesive that you can apply to the stand. When it comes time to remove them, they just pop off without leaving damage. I prefer these...
Integraded Amp
Musicmann, the A308 from Musical Fidelity does not have tone controls. As far as I know, nothing from Musical Fidelity has tone controls.
