Speakers for Musical Fidelity X-150 integrated ??
I just recently purchased the X150, I believe the power rating is 105 watts per channel. Atleast that's what the MF website says. I would try a pair of Audio physic yaras. I'm currently using some Von Schweirkert VR-1's without much luck, and am l...
What Integrated To Match Cremona Audiors
Look at the Jeff Rowland Concerto integarted as well. Very small integrated with I think 250 watts per channel. Not that you need it with the Auditors, but I'll bet it would sound nice. Also, I'd be tempted to look at tubed integrated with those s...
Permanently sealing a vented subwoofer??
I agree with the above. If you really want to tinker, buy a sealed enclosure raw driver and build an enclosure yourself. That would be the best way to go.
Looking for a integated amp.
Audio Refinement all the way. I have to disagree with Hbarrel. Your choices in the 700 range are not that limited. There are many choices available. But.. with those speakers, the audio refinement may well be your best bet. Should be able to be ha...
totem arro or rainmaker or von schweikert vr1
I don't have experience with the Totem line, but I do currently own the VR-1. It's an incredible little speaker. For under 1000 dollars, I haven't found better. I was running them with a Musical Fidelity A3, but just recently sold it. I will be re...
DK Design Group X-Dream - wow
The reviewer can't even get facts straight. He relates the machine aluminum to a Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch. Last I checked, my watch was stainless steel. As soon as a fact like that is incorrect, I have a hard time believing any other part of t...
DK Design Group X-Dream - wow
I find it particularly odd that they didn't use DK amps to drive the speaker. Makes one wonder. I do have to agree with Chanliz though, I'll bet 95% of the cost of that speaker is in the aluminum and not the drivers or crossover. The enclosure pla...
Building your own enclosures
A lot of times, in wall speakers are a free air design, meaning they don't like enclosures. You'd be better off starting with a DIY kit of drivers and build the crossover and encloruse yourself.
Whick system is better for 70K retail?
Initial impressions would lead me to believe that both are capable of really delivering music. But, I think in that price range, it is totally a matter of personal taste. I have not been lucky enough to own either
Amplifier Decision - Audio Research vs Krell
I think it depends on how serious you are about chnanging speakers. If you are really considering it, I'd look at those first, and then decide on the amplifier.
What was/is the heaviest weight amp you herd/own
Krell FPB 600. 180 lbs.
How to bi-wire a nad amp help needed please
Biwiring is no problem. It really can't hurt the amp in anyway. The amp doesn't see a different load when you biwire. You can buy a set of biwire cables. They have one positive negative connection on the amp end and two positive negative connectio...
wife's observation
Sounds like Newbee hit it right on the head. If you listen to a well balanced system, you can play it really loud and not notice it until you try to talk to the person next to you. Her percieved decrease in volume probably means your have brought ...
Need suggestions on upgradeing from B&W N805
It appears to me that you have an awesome setup already. Personally, I think the 805's are excellent speakers, and the 805S is even better. If you like the sound you have now, you may want to give those a try. However, since you already have a Rev...
does more power=better quality ?
I think we are getting a little off track. If I understand the poster, he is asking does a (for example) Classe CA301 sound better than a Classe CA201. A comparison of the same line is what he is after. My response would be that it depends on the ...
