Will sun exposure damage my speakers? Damn, just noticed this thread was posted 17 years ago. I wonder who resurrected this thread..
Will sun exposure damage my speakers? Get some fabric covers for the speakers to protect it from direct sunlight. It’s not only with driver surrounds and other parts of the speaker as the wood finish will be affected as well. You may get uneven shades on the woodwork as the surfaces e...
Townshend Springs under Speakers They are surely going to bring some noticeable gains when installed to speakers which are previously coupled to the floor with spikes of all sorts, and the difference can be quite dramatic. After trying the Isoacoustics Gaia on my speakers,, I can...
PC change madea difference My history with power cords has come a long way. When I played with power cords about 20 or 25 years ago, I didn’t hear any significant difference with all those cords. They either sound the same or there’s a slight difference not worth mentioning...
Townshend Springs under Speakers Tobes, I agree. Perhaps my thoughts are too general and not applicable to all scenarios. Also, the perception of value is subjective. The Townshend can appear to be great value when compared to Isoacoustics in certain conditions. If something work...
Rega Elicit-R If you can’t bring the amp to a qualified technician for troubleshooting and the problem is largely caused by overheating (you can actually troubleshoot yourself by doing some simple tests), try to determine whether the overheating is caused by in...
Townshend Springs under Speakers I may not have anything against Nobsound nor do I wish to contradict Millercarbon’s positive experience with the Nobsound, and I am sure they work wonders in some systems and may produce similar or better results than the Isoacoustics Gaia. Howeve...
Which Harbeths? you had removed the grilles => try to put them back. The grilles are part of the design loop, and John Atkinson did not removed them to measure the M30.2 Anniversary (which does not emphasize treble). The grilles off -> +1.5dB above 6KHz, II...
Townshend Springs under Speakers i have the kef blades which weigh 126lb you think I can get away with the gaia 2?I dont like the idea of raising the speaker height and the big gaia 1s are enormous Personally for me, the improvement in sound quality takes precedence over the incr...
Which Harbeths? Indydan, similar experience though mine is with the Totem Model 1. When I tried the Model 1s about 10 years ago, I already own the Harbeth SHL5 during that time. The Model 1s were lively, fun and engaging with a lit top end. That’s where the good ...
Townshend Springs under Speakers if the speaker is on solid ground, 3 spikes is preferred. That is not my experience. The isolation provided by Isoacoustics Gaia works better on my speakers than spikes on concrete floor with tile finishing.
Which Harbeths? Just to add on to the above excellent post by Arafiq. I understand the OP is disappointed with the hype surrounding the Harbeth and is not willing to try other amps. To reiterate, the Harbeth really come to their own with select amps as they sound...
Weak link, what do ya think ? This looks like an AV setup with the turntable being the odd diamond. I would slowly replace everything in the system. The last one standing would be the SF Grand Piano home speaker which is the strongest link.
Which Harbeths? If all else fails, the Harbeths are not for you then.
Which Harbeths? Amplifier (and source/DAC if it’s not transparent enough).Investigate the gear if you want to salvage the Harbeth. I’m not sure about the Mcintosh you have. Try other options such as Pass Labs, higher range LFD or Naim etc. Use open frame lightwei... |
