Isoacoustics' Gaia eliminated a 120Hz mode
I read somewhere that with a correctly set up Gaia (logo facing the front or rear), the speakers can sway slightly from side to side but stay firm on the other axis without any movement at all. As for leveling, agreed that it doesn’t make much sen...
Accuphase E-480
Lalitk, Thanks for the comprehensive and detailed impressions on the E650. Very well written, certainly useful and appreciated. I’m not going to add much here. I pretty much agree with your thoughts on synergy and the merits of Class A solid-state...
Isoacoustics' Gaia eliminated a 120Hz mode
Give it few days to settle down. In my experience the bass and everything showed more presence and impact after few days of settling down. Basically a more fleshed out and open sound with improved clarity and macrodynamics.I am not sure if this is...
Isoacoustics' Gaia eliminated a 120Hz mode
I use a pair of Gaia II with Marten Duke 2. The Gaias are very effective as they improved everything across the frequency spectrum. The largest improvement was with the bass but the midrange and treble also gained some clarity and sophistication. ...
Does anyone own the Magico Mini 2?
I appreciate that some people may want to live the dreams they had many years ago, nothing wrong with that. Nevertheless, I would agree with few posts here that things have improved with advancement in technology, research and development. The mat...
Accuphase E-480
Just sent you PM via Audiogon. Is it appropriate or convenient to post the impressions on the E650 or E480 over here? As far as I know the E650 is very good, quite a bit better than the 480.
Isoacoustics Orea vs Townshend Seismic Pod on Components
Thanks for the update. Would be interested to know how the Oreas would compare to the Nobsound once power is restored.
FI-28 (R) IEC Connector Bad Buy?
In total, I have the FI 28 Connector now played 20 hours. Of course I know that with time everything will stabilize a bit... but I wonder if this is possibly also the character of rhodium. I don't know about the F28 but the GTX-D NCF duplex requ...
FI-28 (R) IEC Connector Bad Buy?
Do consider the Furutech GTX-D NCF duplex outlet. This one combined with good power cords is heaven. I do not have experience with Furutech plugs or power cords but did look at the various options when I was looking for a high quality power cord e...
Townshend Seismic Bars vs Podium
Thanks for all responses. Based on my very positive experience with the Isoacoustics Gaia, I suspect the Townshend Bars/Podiums will be significant jump in performance from the Nobsound springs. The only downside of the Townshend is the price. If ...
Isoacoustics Orea vs Townshend Seismic Pod on Components
Thanks for all responses. Will consider trying the Oreas (or Nobsound) sometime in the near future. I'm pretty much done with the system and all these tweaks will be the icing on the cake.
Amplifiers in use with big Harbeths (Mon 40 series) that work very well
I used an Aesthetix Calypso with NOS tubes.  While the Plinius was the best solid state amp Ive owned, I haven't owned a lot of SS amps as I prefer tube amps.   If I had to use SS, the SA 102 is an amp I could live with. Thanks for the response...
Best Integrated that you've heard under $5k
In my experience listening to 20+ amps of various combinations, Luxman L-590 AXII (fabulous Class A integrated I’ve owned in this price range)I own this piece.
Vintage vs Modern speakers.
I do not have experience with the Altec or Lansche but generally prefer modern over vintage speakers for sound quality, looks and new/clean condition.
Amplifiers in use with big Harbeths (Mon 40 series) that work very well
Plinius SA-102 in class A (best solid state I’ve owned)May I ask what preamp was matched to the Plinius SA-102. I used to own the SA-100mk3 with Harbeth SHL5 and the sound was too warm and thick in the midrange and bass with reduced clarity and de...
