Actually, if the speaker has good dispersion 8' to 10' is ideal. However less is usually ok. It just gives a smaller soundstage. lkdog, At an etriangle I seem to be inside the sound stage. Farther than that I get better ambiance, but I don't feel ...

I'm with Sfar, it's hard to beat Rotel as far as budget equipment is concerned.

Am I the only one that uses an equalateral setup. Same distance from each speaker? It works best for me in small rooms anyway. 8' is ideal depending on the room size.

Yes the performance is diminished if you use the datalink. It's even mentioned in the manual. Adding leadshot, biwire (or biamp), and using spikes are a must.

Is the Jolida jd 100 as good as the dealers claim?
I happen to like the Cary 308T better than the 308. I think the Jolida is more addictive, but the 308T has more detail. Choose your poison.

That's ok cyber tomato’s don't hurt. I don't think there is an argument about it - vinyl is the best. (not including open reel tape) I've heard that DVD-A is better, what’s the point when the software is so rare. I've heard both and can't tell muc...
