Any of you experiment with optimal VTA for Benz Micro Cartridges Good to have that confirmed, Jim.BTW, what is the point of a manufacturer making such a low output cartridge? It seems to me in theory come with the liabilities of higher noise in the system, not to mention needing a phono stage with enough gain...
Any of you experiment with optimal VTA for Benz Micro Cartridges @jperry Thanks.I barely can remember the difference between a MC and a MM cartridge (in fact, if you asked me right how...I couldn't tell you before having to look it up again). But I've had a much more turntable-experienced pal advising me so I th...
Thiel Owners geeze bcarr38, I wish I could help you by hurrying up my decision on whether I'm going to sell my 3.7s. :-)I'm trying out subwoofers again with my 2.7s this weekend, I hope.
Thiel Owners I've had plenty of speakers in my room, of all different designs, and the Thiel speakers (CS6, 2.7, 3.7) have all produced the best bass I've heard in my room - the tightest, most tonal, least boxy, most focused and punchy. I love Thiel bass!
Any of you experiment with optimal VTA for Benz Micro Cartridges Well I recently bought my first really high end turntable - Transrotor Fat Bob S - and it came with a Benz Micro Ebony L cartridge. I don't know what the hell I'm doing in terms of turntables and I'm utterly mystified by how anyone knows about wh...
Has anyone NOT listened to their system for a long time? I’ve gone in and out of period of audio fever. It was highest when I got heavily into high end audio in the 90’s into the early 2000s. But then I did a long side detour into flat screens and then home theater. With bursts of listening to high end,...
Thiel Owners Well, I still have my old 02 Thiels which I acquired from my wife in '93. And she had them since '82 or so. They have certainly proved to be too satisfying to sell.
Thiel Owners ranchhand,Someone here being satisfied with a speaker that long?Inconceivable ;-)
Issues with AudiogoN forum website, anyone? Thread bump:I still get the application error loading message all the time. Or "sorry stuff happens..."In fact, I just lost this post before when I tried to submit it and got the error, so had to type it again.
Help! Tweaking My Lovan Rack for new Big A**ed Transrotor Turntable! Yes, thanks, I'm aware. My turntable and butcher block base would be between 75-80 lbs, and my Thiel speakers are 77 lbs each, so four Iso-Pucks rated at 20 lb each should work properly with either turntable or speakers.
The Harbeth phenomenon Just because this thread has been bumped...An audio store has opened up nearby me and they sell Harbeth. So I'm often strolling by and stop in, sometimes to buy some vinyl. They usually have a pair of Harbeths playing.I have to say...damn the Ha...
Thiel Owners I doubt anyone has been expecting this version of Thiel to stay in business much longer.
Help! Tweaking My Lovan Rack for new Big A**ed Transrotor Turntable! I think I'll try both the isopucks and the Townsend pods under my speakers to see how they work. I only have four of each so can only try on one speaker, though.
Thiel Owners jon,I would stay happily with my 3.7s if I didn't have to battle room ergonomic/aesthetic issues. (Well, as my flagship speaker anyway. I like different speakers too much to only own one, so I usually have a couple different on hand to switch in ...
Thiel Owners Having re-visited many of the latest speaker designs in my quest to possibly replace my Thiels, I've concluded that, especially with the 3.7s, they are conceivably "last speaker I need to own" quality. By that I mean that at anything around their... |
