Has anyone NOT listened to their system for a long time?
I’ve gone in and out of period of audio fever. It was highest when I got heavily into high end audio in the 90’s into the early 2000s. But then I did a long side detour into flat screens and then home theater. With bursts of listening to high end,...

Well, I still have my old 02 Thiels which I acquired from my wife in '93.  And she had them since '82 or so.  They have certainly proved to be too satisfying to sell.

Issues with AudiogoN forum website, anyone?
Thread bump:I still get the application error loading message all the time. Or "sorry stuff happens..."In fact, I just lost this post before when I tried to submit it and got the error, so had to type it again.
Help! Tweaking My Lovan Rack for new Big A**ed Transrotor Turntable!
Yes, thanks, I'm aware. My turntable and butcher block base would be between 75-80 lbs, and my Thiel speakers are 77 lbs each, so four Iso-Pucks rated at 20 lb each should work properly with either turntable or speakers.
The Harbeth phenomenon
Just because this thread has been bumped...An audio store has opened up nearby me and they sell Harbeth.  So I'm often strolling by and stop in, sometimes to buy some vinyl.  They usually have a pair of Harbeths playing.I have to say...damn the Ha...

I doubt anyone has been expecting this version of Thiel to stay in business much longer.

I think I'll try both the isopucks and the Townsend pods under my speakers to see how they work.  I only have four of each so can only try on one speaker, though.

jon,I would stay happily with my 3.7s if I didn't have to battle room ergonomic/aesthetic issues. (Well, as my flagship speaker anyway.  I like different speakers too much to only own one, so I usually have a couple different on hand to switch in ...

Having re-visited many of the latest speaker designs in my quest to possibly replace my Thiels, I've concluded that, especially with the 3.7s, they are conceivably "last speaker I need to own" quality.  By that I mean that at anything around their...
DSPeaker Anti-mode 8033 ii works wonders with my new sub
I picked up a Dual Core Anti Mode second hand and I'm awaiting it's delivery (today, in fact).I have Thiel 2.7 speakers I'm looking to augment with my two new JL 110E subs (I made a thread about it).  I hate the look of subwoofers, though went wit...

Slight update:I bought some Isoacoustics Iso-Pucks:https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/IsoPuckThe Isoacoustics stuff seem to be all the rage these days, and I’m likely to try some of their Gaia footers on my Thiel speakers. But for now I’m stil...

FWIW...Yesterday while picking up some products at an audio store I was able to spend some time listening to a couple of speakers, and then went home to compare with my Thiel 2.7s.  First was, the Monitor Audio Platinum IIThis store had really wel...

Jon,I would never think that someone should presume a subjective impression like mine is objectively the case.  The AR amps are obviously very highly regarded with lots of happy owners, and in no way would I say the CJ amps are "better."  Just a b...
Move your sub
I've had just the opposite experience connecting my JL subs to the speaker connection (high level inputs).  It changed the tonality of my system and seemed to soften dynamics.  Using the outs from my pre-amp has been better.  I'm now going to try ...
