Help! Subwoofer Newbie Problems!
yogiboy,The ICs are new, just arrived.  I doubt both new cables would just happen to be broken.jzzmusician, I triple checked they were in the right input.adsell, no slave mode on these subs.  Crossover set around 30 Hz.No mention of reference or v...
Help! Subwoofer Newbie Problems!
I have swapped the outputs and verifed both sets of main outputs on the CJ preamp are working.  I also tried L signal from one set of outputs and R signal from the other, to verify the amp sends a signal to both outputs at the same time.I'm theref...
Help! Subwoofer Newbie Problems!
Yeah, I better check that my CJ is actually putting out sound from both sets of main outputs. The preamp SHOULD be putting out signal from both outputs simultaneously, shouldn't it, so both outputs can be used at the same time?  (I don't see why th...
Help! Subwoofer Newbie Problems!
Thanks.Any diagnosis on why the sound changed via speaker line levels or why I wouldn't be getting sound from the subs when hooked up from the second preamp outs?
Not much discussion around MBL
Jim,Although the MBLs are mainly known for their spectacularly realistic 3D imaging and soundstaging, that isn't the first thing that attracted me to them.  It was actually the tone and timbral realism (to my ears). They sound open and realistic, a...

jafant,I appreciate your enthusiasm.Looking at your last string of posts:  I know the original comment was deleted, but you have to admit that question as to whether you are a Walmart Greeter in your spare time was pretty funny :-)
Help! Tweaking My Lovan Rack for new Big A**ed Transrotor Turntable!
bdp24,Thanks!I have the Townshend pods.  Thusfar, in my tests using an iphone app to measure for vibration transfer, the pods have the most dramatic impact on stopping external vibrations getting to the turntable/bass.   I'm planning at this point...

geoff,On further consideration of your website, and a bit of research....I think I "get it"  (Poe's Law is always a hurdle).  ;-)Also, I can see your point about the audiophile over-worry about ringing materials. Thanks for your response.

Whoah.  I just introduced myself to geoff's web site.If anything confirms what I mentioned as the perils of asking for advice in the audiophile world, this was it.
Not much discussion around MBL
I'd also add, as I believe I've mentioned before on the forum:Understandably, especially given the very low sensitivity of the MBL speakers, they are regularly paired with huge current heavy SS amps. But a number of folks have found success with tu...

Thanks testpilot.  I've heard of that for the Lovan racks.  I'm still debating whether to bother doing anything like that for the rack.

geoffkait,And others will say low frequency seismic vibration isn't the vibration we need to normally worry about; we need to worry about how susceptible to vibration/ringing/feedback is the surface you place your turntable on (that is, so it won'...

pokey77,Of course these are subjective opinions.  But that's audio for you.I've been comparing live vs reproduced sound for a long time. I had many speakers pass through my room and had live recordings I'd made of familiar sounds, my acoustic guit...

folkfreak,Appreciate the input. What aspect specifically of the design do you think would amplify sub sonic interference?

mulveling,Glad you found it useful.Though after a conversation with another audiophile pal - who has long been into turntables - I’m unsure how useful the info is. He suggests that when I’m doing the tapping test around the turntable with the iPho...
