How can anyone want more......Just a very happy listener.
Because we are all different? And have different musical and listening criteria, different financial means, etc.I have a friend who feels exactly the way you do about his system. But it does very little for me at all. BTW, that’s a pretty classic ...
open headphones AND speakers = Wow
ha, that actually sounds pretty awesome.  And I could swear something similar happened to me once where I heard both the headphone and speakers going.

jon,I agree. And that’s something I’ve been on about often in this thread. My Thiel speakers get out of the way of the sound, from top to bottom, to a degree no other speaker I’ve owned could manage. There’s just an evenness and control that leave...

andy2,I think I get where you are coming from. When you really look in to what Jim Thiel was doing - the clarity of his design goal, and then the obvious challenges it presented, and then the absolutely clever way he continually improved the design...
Audio Note AN/E vs. DeVore O/96
@tinear123,You may want to look at my (long) thread comparing various speakers I auditioned.  It's heavy on the Devore 0/96 and 0/93 audition notes, but I also mention my reaction to auditioning the Audio Note speakers.https://forum.audiogon.com/d...

There's a pair of CS6s on audiogon right now.  For anyone wanting to get in on the Thiel sound I highly recommend them.  When I had them in my home they were stellar; still one of the best speakers I've ever had.(And sounded wonderful with tubes!).
Have you ever reversed your opinion on a piece of gear?
Interesting question.   I think I'd have to answer:  No.My general assessment of a piece of gear has always remained fairly constant.   Even when it comes to speakers,  if a speaker doesn't have an "it" factor for me very quickly, I never really f...
Considering the New Tekton Design Encores? AND Owners Group - Experiences/Questions
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder,  It sure is. Reminds me of the Soundstage review of the Joseph Audio Pulsar stand mounted speakers. To me, and to the reviewer, they look like normal, elegant little stand mounted speakers, with par...
What is wrong with Audiogon Forums?
This forum has been BRUTAL for weeks now.  I've had to try to reload 50 percent of the threads, several times, in the past hour.  When are they going to fix this????  (I can almost guarantee when I submit this I'll get an error!)
Considering the New Tekton Design Encores? AND Owners Group - Experiences/Questions
These speakers sure are making a splash. It's really intriguing. If only the Tekton designs weren't so huge and ugly, I'd be all over wanting to try them out!Ah well...pity us poor aesthetes...
Thiel CS2.4 to what?
audiojan,Yes I hear you on that.   I heard the Virgo 2s in quite a few rooms, with various gear, including mine in which I could have lots of space to play with.  I tried with tube amps, and powerful Bryston amps.  Never truly got rid of the wooli...
Thiel CS2.4 to what?
audiofan,I’m a long time Audio Physic fan - have had in my room or owned the Virgo 2, Libra and Scorpio models, as well as having heard plenty other audio physic speakers. (I auditioned the latest Avanti as well this year).I agree, the AP characte...
Does this image give you claustrophobia?
Are those McIntosh speakers with the gazillion midrange drivers?Ye gads.  I high end store used to sell an expensive iteration of those years ago and they were consistently the most awful sounding speakers in the store. Quality-wise, they reminded...

andy2,Very interesting post.  Thanks. I know what you mean about the "sparkle" that some speakers may have (in this case yours) vs the Thiel sound, and certainly agree on the advantages of the concentric mid/tweeter design.I wonder if you have hea...

Ok, so it seems the site is buggy for others.  Good to know, thanks.
