Thiel Speakers
You are indeed, very behind the curve ;-)Though Thiel folded, fortunately one of the main tech guys from Thiel, Rob Gillum, has opened up a business strictly servicing legacy Thiel speakers.  He's the one to contact - he has the knoweldge and plen...
Many seem to be talking about their last system .
teo_audio,In the meantime, Digital and it’s problems are misrepresenting music, and that is part of the problem. Subtle to the conscious mind but the lack of some important aspects of what pulls us in, for almost 20 years, wiped out an entire gene...
Many seem to be talking about their last system .
I'm 54 and I'm still going.   An ideal would be to find a single system that just did everything amazing.  But I've yet to encounter such a system (at least that I can afford) so, while I always love my current system, at some point I'm checking w...
Thiel Owners
Geeze, who is making all the posts that have to be removed?  In a Thiel owner's thread??
Thiel Owners
I've tried passive pre-amps before, as well as running my Benchmark DAC with it's own volume control directly in to my amps.  The results have always been the same.  At first I'm captivated by sense of transparency and zero haze, grain, etc.  It r...

Thanks for the info audiojan.I've had my JL Audio subwoofers for a looong time but still haven't got around to really giving a good try to integrate them with my 2.7s, even though I also bought the JL Audio CR-1 crossover, and an anti-node process...
Can you live with your current speaker until you die?
erik,Out of curiosity, when you say your speakers sound exactly like what you want: what do they sound like?  What were the characteristics you were going for?
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
The metaphysical and the scientific. Until we have testing equipment that can test things outside the reach of science right now, only our opinions can be our reasoning. Does science know all about the behavior of atoms and electrons? I don't thin...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Andy,If your system is so unstable that it alters sound when you change cables, maybe it's not good enough.;-)
Can you live with your current speaker until you die?
Never believe an audiophile who says he can live with a speaker until he dies...until he dies. Before then, we know what happens.    ;-)In my case, I know myself: it's exceedingly unlikely that I will use only the same pair of speakers for the rest...
How about a list of speakers that are time and phase coherent? Thiels and what else?
From that speaker design article by JA, on time/phase coherence:"Many loudspeakers are claimed by their manufacturers' marketing departments to be time-coherent. There are also a number of speakers that have sloped front baffles, implying that the...
Does this image give you claustrophobia?
The placement of the speakers certainly makes me edgy.I mean...c'mon!
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
djones51,I guess my system is junk. Oh well life goes on. I feel your pain. Drat, someone on an audio forum has declared that if I don’t perceive obvious differences between cables, my system isn’t good enough. What will I do????I’ve been stuck wi...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
robert_1, For most people, instead of learning and understanding science they choose to follow the blind, and have a justification to their foolish (ego trip) quests to brag about their latest piece of equipment. It is mostly about the hardware sp...
Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers
BTW, Really cool binaural video report of the new Devore flagship prototype "O" speakers - a double system, two speakers per side with one doing the lower bass (presumably).I found the sound through the binaural recording on my headphones sounded ...
