@thieliste  The shag carpet combined with underpad is pretty thick. No I'm not having stability problems without the carpet spikes.  You can wiggle the speakers a big if you grab them, but they feel solid and not easy to push over.   I never a...

FWIW: I mentioned earlier in the thread that I was trying some Isoacoustic Gaia 2 footers for the Thiel 2.7. Not sure I followed up, so... My speakers sit on a shag rug overlaying a wood main floor. The floor clearly vibrates around the speaker...
Wilson to Tekton to ????
Most of us don’t have fully dedicated "man cave" rooms so aesthetics are still a factor. Speakers become essentially a piece of furniture, and I’m going to be looking at those speakers while listening for years. It counts if what I’m looking at is...

Don't worry about looks (assuming that is a possibility for you, I know some people can't get past looks) and just think about how they sound. That photo certainly has me worrying about the looks!   I don't think it is generally possible to ...

@jbhiller    I'm tempted too and I have no reason to be buying any more loudspeakers! Ha ha!  Same here.  Sort of. I have enjoyed some of the new vogue for old school wider baffle/bigger driver speakers (as my Devore thread attests to).  So ...

I read the Stereophile Source Point 10 review (couldn't help myself, grabbed a subscription). Yup, they measured quite well.  Both the measurements and JA's impressions seemed to align with what I felt I heard - Full, weighty bass, generally s...

Thanks very much fsonicsmith! Ultimately I buy on what I hear, but I do find it interesting to see how a speaker measures.  It's interesting to find some correlation between what I hear (or a reviewer hears) and the measurements.

fsonicsmith:   The stereophile review isn't online yet.  How did they measure?

Good to hear arafiq. I'm actually borrowing a friend's Bryston 4B3 again to swap from my CJ Premier 12 tube monoblocks.  I'd tried it before with my tube pre-amp - liked some things but definitely preferred my Premier 12s.  However I'm curious to...
All New Monitor Audio Concept-50 Time-Aligned Loudspeakers : Major-Breakthrough ?!
The Hammerpede creatures from the movie Prometheus.  The Monitor Audio speakers immediately brought those to (my) mind. :-)

Wow, it's a Joseph Perspetive-Festival! We will all be listening to our new Perspectives pretty soon.

@rsf507  That's great! It's always nice when other people seem to hear what I hear. Yeah, that purity of tone!  I wrote in my other thread about listening to an Emily Barlow track with piano, vocals and other instruments, and the authenticity o...
patricia barber - diana krall - holly cole
Really?  Her whole style is built on her idiosyncratic phrasing.
patricia barber - diana krall - holly cole
Sometimes when I’m reading a book and listening to music, whenever I reach for the remote to move to a different song, it’s always Holly Cole. Don’t know what’s about her music but I can’t stand to listen to her for more than 30 seconds. It's h...
