New MOFI speaker (Andrew Jones)
The SourcePoint 10 review (and measurements) is up on the Stereophile site now.
Under my tower speakers -- Isoacoustics Gaia, other options?
Out of curiosity I sprang for the IsoAcoustic Gaias for my speakers to compare them to my own isolation platforms.  The Gaias do not completely isolate the speakers like my spring platforms but overall I thought the speakers sounded better with t...
What are your top 3 favorite female singers?
I have come very late in life to an appreciation of Agnetha Faltskog of ABBA. Aside from being gorgeous, in her prime I think she had one of the finest voices in pop music.  Such bell-like purity of tone, incredible range without over singing, i...
Those singers you enjoy,....that don't really have a great voice?

Devore 0/96 and Room Size
I don't have the O/96 but auditioned them a lot.  My room is 15' x 13' with a large room opening in to a hallway.  I've had a number of big floor standing speakers in there, but the O/96 is one of the few that had me wondering if they'd work in my...
Contemplating DEVORE SPEAKERS (and others)....LONG audition report of many speakers
My upgraded Perspectives have arrived back at my dealer.  Can't pick them up this week so I'll have them early next week.  I have to say, given how great I have the Thiels sounding at this point the Perspectives have their work cut out for them!
Thiel Owners
@tomthiel  Great info! @vair68robert  Thank you for that very kind offer!  I don't think I'll take you up on it as I think I'll get along ok with the Gaias.
Thiel Owners
@thieliste  The shag carpet combined with underpad is pretty thick. No I'm not having stability problems without the carpet spikes.  You can wiggle the speakers a big if you grab them, but they feel solid and not easy to push over.   I never a...
Thiel Owners
FWIW: I mentioned earlier in the thread that I was trying some Isoacoustic Gaia 2 footers for the Thiel 2.7. Not sure I followed up, so... My speakers sit on a shag rug overlaying a wood main floor. The floor clearly vibrates around the speaker...
Wilson to Tekton to ????
Most of us don’t have fully dedicated "man cave" rooms so aesthetics are still a factor. Speakers become essentially a piece of furniture, and I’m going to be looking at those speakers while listening for years. It counts if what I’m looking at is...

Don't worry about looks (assuming that is a possibility for you, I know some people can't get past looks) and just think about how they sound. That photo certainly has me worrying about the looks!   I don't think it is generally possible to ...
New MOFI speaker (Andrew Jones)
@jbhiller    I'm tempted too and I have no reason to be buying any more loudspeakers! Ha ha!  Same here.  Sort of. I have enjoyed some of the new vogue for old school wider baffle/bigger driver speakers (as my Devore thread attests to).  So ...
New MOFI speaker (Andrew Jones)
I read the Stereophile Source Point 10 review (couldn't help myself, grabbed a subscription). Yup, they measured quite well.  Both the measurements and JA's impressions seemed to align with what I felt I heard - Full, weighty bass, generally s...
New MOFI speaker (Andrew Jones)
Thanks very much fsonicsmith! Ultimately I buy on what I hear, but I do find it interesting to see how a speaker measures.  It's interesting to find some correlation between what I hear (or a reviewer hears) and the measurements.
