Cardas test lp version 2 With the "Ultimate Analogue Test LP" and the Fozgometer instructions, there is an additional test for channel balance. It uses an out of phase mono track and the Foz device registers the "center channel" light. If the meter reads "0", then the lef...
Cardas test lp version 2 Doug, that seems like excellent advice. I would add the following as potentially helpful: If the recording of that solo voice or instrument is in a dead space, it should sound life like in scale with no sounds (distortion), or exaggerated size out...
Shout out to Syntax - re: Delos Where can we read information about Daniel's tonearm? That's good news as I did not know it was finished. I've been anticipating this arm as well as Raul's arm for a couple of years. There seems to be a lot going on with arm designs these days. Th...
Isolation Platform from Timber Nation They may be attractive and solid platforms, but for proper isolation, get something designed for lab equipment like a Vibraplane. These wooden shelves tune and alter the sound, in my experience.
AFFORDABLE HIGH VFM RACKS - Opinions Please... I just sold my Zoethecus rack. It was OK, but a bit wobbly because it was tall and had a very heavy turntable on it. I also tried Mapleshade brass footers and the cork/rubber feet and one of their 4" maple slabs. Did very little for vibration isol...
Magico/YG I have had a few superb dealer demos at Goodwins Highend in Boston. Much better than anything I heard at the two audio shows that I've attended. Seek out a good dealer with good rooms and you will get a good idea of what these speakers can do.
Shout out to Syntax - re: Delos I read that he has the parts to make five arms. They may be all spoken for. If they each sold for the $35K retail price, that would be quite impressive. There are also the new Phantom Elite 12" and Triplanar 12". Love the screensaver. Does it come...
Shout out to Syntax - re: Delos Yes, Syntax, there's much buzz over on WhatsBestForum about this arm. If you have heard it, could you describe the sound on a new thread? They are comparing it you the Phantom and reports are grim. I'm sure the OP is sleeping well enjoying his Delos.
Magico/YG I'm in the Boston area and you are welcome to hear my Mini 2's. I will add that a store demo of the V2 was for me the best in store demo I had ever heard of a music system. I ended up buying the Mini 2s because I found them to be a bit more cohere...
Direct drive vs belt vs rim vs idler arm There is a new table called the Tech Das Air Force One which is getting a bunch of buzz over on WhatsBestForum. It has a magnetically levitated platter which I think is driven by a rubber belt. Bob Graham is importing it as the NA distributor and ...
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable Spirit, I'm just trying to understand what you mean when you use these terms. You paint with a mighty broad brush all belt drive turntables, and admittedly I have not had a rim or idler in my system, so I'm curious about how the difference in soun...
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable Spirit, did you hear "artificial warmth etc, wavering of suspended notes etc" when you auditioned the SME 30 in your system? I hear none of that with my 30/12 belt drive table.
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable Himiguel, You might want to contact Albert Porter. He has extensive experience with the NVS/Telos and owns an Atlas.Could you elaborate on your point about unheard variables due to noise? Are you talking about the environmental noise, a component ...
Review: Pass Labs XA100.5 Amplifier Hello Vic, Congratulations. That is a wonderful combination and Mark is a wonderful person with whom to deal. I'm curious to know what these replaced and what speakers you have. Happy Listening!
Direct drive vs belt vs rim vs idler arm I agree with Dover. I watched Ct057's video, blew it up to full screen size, place the point of my cursor on the "33" and it is clearly lurching forward. However, I notice some lurching on my KAB disk which is a result of the disk not being perfec... |
