Townshend Maximum Supertweeters @antigrunge2 Thank you for your vote of confidence
Townshend Maximum Supertweeters Aging audiophiles? Not especially, Hearing might be limited to around 20kHz, but in real life harmonics extend well above that frequency. Indeed, research shows the frequencies above 20kHz influence hearing and could well be one difference b...
Is advice from a constant upgrader to be avoided What a fascinating topic. Perhaps I am in an ideal position, having a good understanding both electronics and physics. Before making a purchase, I thoroughly investigate it and then sit on it, so I don't make any impulsive decisions. As has bee...
RCA interconnect recommendation I've been suckered into expensive cables, but not anymore. The question needs to be asked, are they better or is it just hype and one-upmanship with a massive dose of subliminal stimulus? Who can blame the manufacturers for tapping into a targete...
Replacement for current speakers suggestions I don't believe springs are any good at decoupling. My choice is IsoAcoustics, although I also like the SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System.
Changing 100uf cap Here's sone interesting Capacitor Test that might be helpful. It includes 9 clarity caps.
Ready For Digital Source...Computer? Computers and USB belong same league as phones. I doubt any true audiophile would ever consider them for anything more than a millisecond before breaking up in fits of laughter.
Who Tried Power Conditioners Over The Years and No Longer Use Them Today, Any Why? If you are connected to the grid in anyway you need a pure sine wave AC conditioner.Even if you you are off grid, it's highly likely you still need one.

The return of the DIYer DIY is mostly a thing of the past for two main reasons. On the one hand, modern products are far more complex than previously and on the other, most purchasers are not interested in the effort needed to get started.I might have constructed my firs...
Frequency response while streaming stops at 15kHz- did I miss something in the fine print? Allan Silverman one of the recording industries best.https://youtu.be/EiRMYoqU3ys?t=575 So Digital is a quest for loudness. Utter garbage.
Top 5 Reaons to NOT BUY A TURNTABLE. The recording industry is digital and even tapes are converted to digital. If you only listen to recordings made on tape and pressed before going digital, that's terrific. If you listen to modern recordings or modern pressings, you're deluding your...
Better CD Sound: The Search Onkyo Integra CDC-3.4 six disc changer I have an Onkyo DX-390 six disc changer, which is virtually identical to the Integra. I seem to recall the Integra is an up market version with better components. With considerable internal shielding aroun...
How do you listen? Concert levels are terrific, but lower volumes are best for longer listening periods. The way Audyssey manages lower levels when correctly set satisfies me and provides to same frequency response as full volume.
Top 3 songs to evaluate a system I don't get why Miller Carbon questions why you guys actually still do this?I would have thought evaluating a system is a completely valid exercise and some recordings are likely to be better than others at revealing flaws. |
