Harbeth compact 7 ES3 for a large room ? K330... yes, I've run into the same thing in regards to the limit of characters you can type in a post. Seems strange.
My "ah-ha" moment with NOS tubes... check that... I've confirmed mine are the Holland version Amperex 7308 PQ's.
My "ah-ha" moment with NOS tubes... Samhar - I'm not sure if my Amperex is the Holland or US version... if I where to guess, I think it's the US version but would have to unscrew the tube cage to confirm.Since your recommendation on the Reflector 6H30P-DR tubes, I've done a little s...
Best Integrated amp for Wilson Audio Sasha I've not used Wilson speakers before, however, there's a nice Boulder 865 recently listed for $7K that you may want to add to your list. If price where no object, the VAC Phi Beta integrated would be at the top of my list. I think there's a demo l...
Computer output to DAC, which route? Nolitan - according to the review on Computer Audiophile, yes, the Halide Bridge is asynchoronous. Let us know if you end up trying it and how you like it.
Preamp suggestions Aesthetix Calypso with NOS tubes.
Harbeth 7es3 vs HL5 That's a large room, especially considering it opens up to more rooms. I'd go with the SHL5's with the sub to fill things out, and a decent tube amp. I've used the McIntosh MC275 MK V with my M-40.1's to good effect in a room smaller than yours......
McIntosh Fans - I'm Considering an Amp Upgrade The MC275 mk V is a great little tube amp. Highly recommended.
Addiction to Brand When it comes to tubes, I'm a fan of old Amperex, Siemens & Telefunken... as well as new production SED power tubes. When it comes to electronics, I enjoy and trust Aesthetix, McIntosh & Conrad Johnson.I love my Harbeth M-40.1 speakers. I ...
Looking for a Preamp up to $3K Ditto the Calypso... will need to account for NOS tubes ($300'ish).
Which amp to drive Verity Parsifal Ovation Monitor Not a Simaudio fan... heavy into advertising and appearance, but light on performance. Go with the Pass... not even a contest if it where my money... but then again, I'd be looking to go with tubes.
Tube Research Labs Dude vs. Shindo Labs preamps Vinyljh... suggest you brush up on your customer service skills. Telling a prospective customer (even if they are buying used) that their post is pointless will not do much for endearing the Shindo brand to Audiogoners. Just a suggestion.
Aesthetix Calypso or Pass Labs Preamp Terryakhan - I think you have very good tubes. I can recommend you try Telefunken 12AX7 smooth plates to get another perspective. In the 6922 slot's, I've been happy with Amperex orange label, but preferred the older & more expensive Amperex (P...
Has anyone switched from Dynaudio to Harbeth I've owned 5 pairs of Dynaudio speakers, from the Audience 42's, to the Contour 1.3SE's to the Confidence C4. About 2 years ago, I sold my Dyn C4's and tried the Harbeth M-40.1's and even though they retail for approx. 40% less than the Dyn C4's, ...
Aesthetix Calypso upgrade to Signature version ? I owned the Calypso for approximately 3 years and loved it. I now have the Calypso Signature and can tell you it's wonderful and definitely better than the base Calypso. The signature is more refined, focused and sounds very lifelike to me. The im... |
