How do I hook up a subwoofer for 2-channel Russ, Most subs will have the L+R rca input and one of those might say mono. Think home theater where the processor has only one sub out. I run 2 subs with 2 channel and I hook the L pre out to the L sub in and the R pre out to the L pre in to the...
SVS and Electrostatics You're not blending the sub with the electrostatic panel, you're blending it with the cone woofer of the SL3. Will be alot easier. As mentioned, REL or ML's own Descent for starters. Good luck.
McIntosh - is it that great? I thought I'd chime in here on one of the reasons I think Mac is so great, at least for their solid state. It's their hand wound autoformers. I got this from something Ron C, of McIntosh, said awhile back. Transistors are not very linear compared ...
Quad ESL 989 and Maggie 3.6s Wc65I see all the smiles but I want to make sure you know my first post was not directed at you. If anything it was maybe more for Jeff. He seemed to have an issue with you stating the 88 was better than his 89. That's fine if its viewed as an opi...
Quad ESL 989 and Maggie 3.6s Wc65Glad to see your :-) instead of a :-( at the end of your post. No insult intended. Just my opinion not a fact. :-)
Quad ESL 989 and Maggie 3.6s Wc65 is just stating his opinion even if it sounds like a fact. Anybody who states anything like, for instance, Solid State is better than tubes as a fact is in fact an idiot. Some simple logic proves this. It's fine to have your own tastes and pr...
Amplifier Decision - Audio Research vs Krell Never heard the Audio Research but I owned the KSA 250 for 5 yrs. I got it for my Duetta Sigs but when it was delivered I couldn't move it to them so I hooked it up to my Merlin VSM just to see if it survived the shipping. Wow. I didn't think it w...
You might be an audiophile if... YMBAAI: You leave your car running all night so the radio/cd will be ready to listen to on the way to work.
Dipole rear speakers ??? Hi Mike, I chose dipoles for my rears. Wider soundstage on each side vs more pinpoint with point source. I suppose some soundtracks might sound better one way or the other. Last night we watched Independence Day, good timing, and I had no problem ...
McIntosh MC-501s; balanced and unbalanced preamps; The direction I would head would be toward a C200. Your 501's are completely balanced and so is the 200, so with xlr's you would have a balanced signal from at least the input of the 200 to the output of the 501. Good luck.
Ok ML CLS and SET amp owners - interesting ? Just my experience: Vu,of Deja Vu Audio, sent me one of his PP 2a3 amps to try on my Apogee Duetta Sigs. I thought this was going to be a waste of time but I had a couple pairs of single driver speakers I could listen to after the Apogee experiment...
McIntosh MC162 vs. MC7270 All we can do is "guess" which one you'll like. Taste is so personal. I would guess the 7270 would be a noticable improvement because of the power and the autoformers. Anyway of trying it first? Good luck.
I'm looking for inexpensive bookshelf speakers. Omega Super 3, $550 new. 93db and 8 ohm will work well with the Denon.
Sonus Faber vrs Magnepan I love the Maggie/planar sound too. I've lived with the 3.6 and Duetta Sigs for 8 yrs now. Recently I needed a speaker for a smaller room. I went through alot of name brand monitors trying to find something that would work in this room. Nothing wo...
what is "unity gain" ? I think it's when the volume control on your preamp is neither boosting or attenuating the signal. |
