High Quality dac with network streamer saves $1,000s
I bought an M3 with the idea of the built in renderer saving money as well but have yet to purchase a server. Hooking up my iMac with Audirvana by way of generic ethernet cable and wifi with two different routers has led my to conclude sound quali...
Corner problem? RE: Rippling cones
The final resting spot for one of my subs is inches away from my turntable. Using REW to generate a sine wave at the problem room resonance mode frequency, I found a null by walking around with a decibel meter to where I will move my turntable. Th...
Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2021
"Bruce's Bar In Severance Colorado"Wow. I was regularly there as a kid. My dad and I were friends with Bruce, Dennis and Linda...RMAF is good. Glad it has moved on from the Marriott, though.
Long hiatus from audio, getting back into it, speaker/room help please
I live in the Dallas area. Audio Concepts salesmen are nice, professional people and sell Magnepan along with other big names.
Help with Shortlist of Speakers! (SF vs Devore vs Others?)
My opinion is that SS amplification the broadly antithetical to the orangutan line. I heard them with NAIM and it sounded like disappointment. Much prefer SF with your current gear. Looking at pictures and hearing in person are very different thin...
Technics moving all turntable production to Malaysia
I remember shamefully being relieved my Boxster was built in Germany (by real Germans!) instead of Finland. Super nuts, but oh well.
Lack of Lamm customer service?
You may be getting ahead of yourself. I have always had good repair experiences with Lamm with reasonable turnaround time.
Why are equipment racks so expensive?
While the Lack is a very good shelf for next to nothing, Finite Elemente and SRA racks (examples I own) are better sounding and better pieces of furniture. I am not sure of the cost question. One is designed to be ultra cheap and mass manufacturer...
How do you know if you need to add a sub (without auditioning one, I mean)?
The ATC SCM40s have low frequency extension as good as any three-way speaker of their size and better quality bass than than nearly all at that price point. I know that model. The specifications ATC provides is a bit misleading because their speak...
Do you care about car audio?
I was in high school during the pinnacle of aftermarket car audio and enjoyed it. Now auto manufactures have made that less accessible with the computer integration and their options are generally lackluster. I do not do aftermarket because I do n...
Holographic Soundstage ?
Along with a few others' posts I really suspect your speakers are underpowered with the Raven. Loss of bass and scale is what happens with underpowered speakers. Wharfedale recommends 100-600 watts. Further, watts-sensivity-listening distance calc...
CHALLENGE: Best speakers for playing 1812 Overture by Eric Kunzel with real CANON at 92+dB
Both really funny responses. Thanks for the laugh.
ATC SCM150 (or JBL Synthesis) (or JBL vintage) (or new Klipsch Jubilee)
I appreciate ATC, but with my Synthesis ownership experience I would not currently be interested in an even more studio monitor type sound. ATC is more coherent than the JBLs, and imo represents dynamics at least as well. What I do not enjoy is th...
Good 2 channel integrated amplifier for 702 s2 under 3k?
I have a Hegel H160 with a pair of 707s. There is no offensive HF distortion, which B&Ws will all too easily broadcast with poor cabling and electronics. I also tried it with my JBLs  with same results. It is nice sounding amp
Selling my hubby's estate--B&W 805 D3: Speakers or Loudspeakers??
B&W (Bowers & Wilkins) 805 D3 Diamond Series Speakers with original stands (Pair)" Hi. This is a good title. Do not need to state "(Pair)" or "Speakers" , though. Buyers know what they are. Best of luck. If they are B&W factory stands,...
