Speakers for Computer

Im thinking about buying some speakers for my PC, but not entirely sure what to look for. Im looking for some good quality speakers because im going to use them for some music software. Do I have to buy a soundcard? Do I need to get some sort of audio interface? can I just connect the speakers to the MOBO ports? Is soundcard and audio interface the same? thanks also any recommendations Is highly appreciated.

It’s difficult to provide an answer without knowing your budget, but I gather from the Nature of your questions, that you are not the typical audiophile found on this site. Therefore, I would recommend an inexpensive DAC such as the ones that SCHIIT sell on their website, and then something like an audioengine speaker. Maybe this will get you started on a useful track even if the particulars don’t suit you.I always feel bad for people who don’t get any replies to their posts when they’re looking for help, so here you go. I’m not any big expert, but I was in your position some years ago.
There are a lot of DAC/digital to analog converters with USB inputs that can connect to the USB port on your computer without having to concern yourself with a sound card. There are also a lot of devices with the DAC and the speaker amplifier in the same chassis, like this one:
https://www.hegel.com/products/integrated/h95 as an example. There are a bunch others at different price points. Basically you need a DAC, an amplifier and speakers. A product ike this has them all-in-one, including wifi: https://us.kef.com/speaker/computer-speakers/digital-hifi-speakers-lsx-wireless-speakers/lsx-wireles...

A sound card is only for recording audio off the web
A good USB cable to a Schiit Modi will get you there.
Then out to powered speakers with a sub under the desk.
