Any JBL 4367 owners or opinion? It seems to me like you have a great starting gear to support their use, although I no personal experience with your amplifier. I used wood furniture dollies, which provide a decent height and ability to experiment with placement, until I bought a...
Any JBL 4367 owners or opinion? That is a pretty open-ended question, and I hate to muse too much. It is really a hybrid between a horn section that is dumbed down to match a large woofer. That woofer is aided by limiting its LF extension, so it too keeps the soundwave from fall...
A MEMBER IN NEED OF SUPPORT I enjoy your posts. Best of luck going forward. Glad you and your family are least safe. -Brian
New to me speakers I would not be looking to power Utopias with low to moderate power tube amp. I have heard Moabs and a few more recent Utopia line speakers, and my opinion it is pretty lopsided. No speaker is an island though, you have to have the right gear.
RMAF 2021 Cancelled Sorry to hear that. I had fun at those shows. Must make it point to support Axpona.
Speakers for Computer There are a lot of DAC/digital to analog converters with USB inputs that can connect to the USB port on your computer without having to concern yourself with a sound card. There are also a lot of devices with the DAC and the speaker amplifier in t...
What audio expos are worth going to? I used to go to Axpona annually until they moved it out of Rosemont. JD Events does an excellent job producing it. I also used to go to RMAF, but found the Marriott hotel was not made for audio shows ;). I think they have moved it. Both definitely...
High Quality dac with network streamer saves $1,000s Sorry for any confusion. My M3 has the Ethernet connection. Aes with my cdp sounds better than it as described with what I have on hand. Maybe I will try a switch as an experiment. Thank you.
High Quality dac with network streamer saves $1,000s I bought an M3 with the idea of the built in renderer saving money as well but have yet to purchase a server. Hooking up my iMac with Audirvana by way of generic ethernet cable and wifi with two different routers has led my to conclude sound quali...
Corner problem? RE: Rippling cones The final resting spot for one of my subs is inches away from my turntable. Using REW to generate a sine wave at the problem room resonance mode frequency, I found a null by walking around with a decibel meter to where I will move my turntable. Th...
Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2021 "Bruce's Bar In Severance Colorado"Wow. I was regularly there as a kid. My dad and I were friends with Bruce, Dennis and Linda...RMAF is good. Glad it has moved on from the Marriott, though.
Long hiatus from audio, getting back into it, speaker/room help please I live in the Dallas area. Audio Concepts salesmen are nice, professional people and sell Magnepan along with other big names.
Help with Shortlist of Speakers! (SF vs Devore vs Others?) My opinion is that SS amplification the broadly antithetical to the orangutan line. I heard them with NAIM and it sounded like disappointment. Much prefer SF with your current gear. Looking at pictures and hearing in person are very different thin...
Technics moving all turntable production to Malaysia I remember shamefully being relieved my Boxster was built in Germany (by real Germans!) instead of Finland. Super nuts, but oh well.
Lack of Lamm customer service? You may be getting ahead of yourself. I have always had good repair experiences with Lamm with reasonable turnaround time. |
