Do you clean your records before play, after play, or once (and then never again)?
I provided a fair bit of commentary (including a Q&A w/ Walter Davies @ LAST) on LAST Record Preservative in this thread...https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/last-record-preservative-improves-the-sound

@ptss,I think Last Record Preservative is the next step of awesomeness after an ultrasonic cleaning.
How many records can a stamper press?
Interesting. What determines replacement?
Anyone replace the batteries in their AudioQuest DBS packs?
The packs use Duracell MN21, Energizer A23 or equivalent. These 12-volt batteries are commonly used in garage door & car alarm remotes. Each pack uses 6 batteries (for a total of 72 volts per-pack).
Anyone still using a Teres table?
I love it, Swampwalker! I still have fond memories of that table. I want to try a mat, but I also want to continue using my clamp. I've thought about a custom cut Herbie's Grungebuster (and maybe having a custom cut piece to fit underneath the cla...

Even if what I hear is a placebo response, it was worth it. $30 is a cheap psychological improvement.

Are y'all still using the clamp? How about mats?

lak,I've had 2 Teres tables over the years. My first was a monkeywood 255 (belt driven). I sold it back in 2006-ish during the "dark days" of grad school. I bought my current table (technically, it would be a cocobolo 245 - solid acrylic platter -...
Klaudio ultrasonic cleaner - Only using distilled water?
Yeah, sometimes I'll do a "pre-clean" using DiscDoctor brushes and MoFi Enzyme Plus solution. Those are mostly used LPs that need some extra love (lots of visible crap, finger prints, smoke smell, etc.). If I did marathon cleaning sessions of used...
Klaudio ultrasonic cleaner - Only using distilled water?
I prefer to restrict responses to those using Klaudio machines simply because the Klaudio machine is a one-step process. You drop in the record, the Klaudio machine does all the work, and you can play (or sleeve) the record as soon as the cycle is...

I've thrown out my carbon fiber brushes. At best it simply pushes crap around the records (I believe anything a carbon brush would remove would not affect the play) and at worst, it's creating a static charge that attracts more crap to the record ...
Why not use an arc'ed lathe?
LOL
Teres Illius Tonearm and the importance of the Tonearm in the analog reproduction chain
I love my Teres table. I have a solid acrylic platter -  I wish I could find a lead loaded platter. If anyone has one they aren't using, PM me!
How does high-pass filter requirement affect system decisions?
I think it gives you a lot more flexibility for experimentation. I'm very happy with my AX-7e. Of course, I'm interested what an Ayre upgrade would do, but I think $12k of new music would bring more satisfaction than $12k of new hardware. I do fee...
Help w/ Martin Logan setup!
It's easy to get sucked into "audiophile nervosa". My advice is a bit more pragmatic. Go back to Magnolia and pick up a Marantz MM7025 and see if improves things. If so, call it good. It's not that expensive and, regardless of how much you spend o...
