Turntable help
How can someone with over 2000 posts not state the model in their post?
Get my turntable fixed or buy a new one?
There is a frequency generator circuit board underneath which could be faulty.

ebm, I have $5gs more than I have if I'd bought this puck ☺
Ghost in the machine?

You sure the belt hasn't fallen off? Depends how much they charge... But I'd say hold on to it. Maybe replace the cartridge with a AT95 or MP110.

$300-$350 on Ebay. For your NOS, maybe $400+
KT-88 vs. EL34
You should be able to swap in 6L6 for EL34 as long as you can adjust the bias AND you get the GTB versions as they can work with higher plate voltages AND as long as your amp can work with these tubes in the first place.
Solid State Amps for Quad ESL 57?
Adam, your stacked Quad frames look amazing.
KT-88 vs. EL34
6L6GTB sweeter than EL34 - RCA black plates.

Why do some tube-based power amps have back-panel replaceable fuses and others don’t?
Interesting. It’s more expensive to have a back panel fuse rather than one on the board. Obviously easier to replace. Some manufacturers may not want you replacing a fuse as it can signify a major issue that requires service.
I'm considering replacing my passive preamp with a tubes. Is it worth it?

Denon DL103 vs Goldring 1042 on a Spacedeck
As it is used and the cartridge probably worn, get the Goldring, at least for the moment. Otherwise, get something like an AT95e or Nagaoka MP110 so you don't hurt your vinyl with a possibly worn Denon.
Has anyone upgraded the wires on a Variac??
Interesting design. It can't hurt to try as long as your wall power is up to snuff.
Interesting article
Good read. Pleasantly surprised to see it was written by Gopnik. I read his ’Paris to the Moon' which is one of my favorite books.
