Question Regarding Clearaudio Concept Power Supply
Check with Clearaudio first.
Upgrading my beginner setup and not sure how to allocate funds. New cart, table or amp?
No. Get the Technics 1200GR and a Nagaoka MP110. Always get the best source you can afford. Save for a few more weeks, max the card! Then you won’t have to worry about the front end when you go to replace the amp. If you get a lower-end table, you...
Installed bulk foil resistors in phono amp
Ralph, there’s a 1k on the grid of the first triode which I replaced as well as the load resistor.
... How I should set the volume...
Full on removes more of the volume control from the circuit so it will sound better.
New upper trim level Corvette or seven year old used amps?
I was going to buy a MLC Dodge Challenger SRT in 2017 for $50k. Test drove and picked the dark grey one on the lot. Then I remembered my property taxes for the next twenty years will run to $200,000. And they say we are free. Bullsh1t.
New upper trim level Corvette or seven year old used amps?

New Phono cartridge
PS Build quality WAS spotty decades ago.
New Phono cartridge
@mijostyn Re your comment on the Decca. That's why you need to have a good one. Thing is, most other cartridges are okay. Some are pretty good. In a Jelco or other heavy arms, a Decca makes music come alive. I have three Deccas and each brings its...
New Phono cartridge
How about upgrading your table with a second motor and PSU? And add a second Jelco 850. Maybe a 12". Then buy a Decca. Like this one. Your GNote supports 2 inputs. You will not regret it.
Hear my Cartridges....🎶
Cheapish headphones on PC. One listen quick A-B.AS has a fuller bass, with more room-filling power and drive. JMAS seems to have a cleaner midband, more transparent and less congested upper bass. Listen to the French horn? around 5 mins in to hear...

The AP builder said he owned a TFiT and his AP is not a knock-off. It looks like a patent infringement to me if there is one.
Cartridge loading
You're not loading it as much as you were. Loading damps and reduces air and detail. You know the way you can turn a bicycle upsidedown and turn the pedals as fast as you can and it really flies? Now try it with the brakes applied at various level...
