How much of your free time is dedicated to listening to your stereo?
Usually a 3-6 hour session 1-4 times a week. Not retired or independently wealthy so huge chunks of time wasted working for the man.
Interesting difference between 12" and 9" tonearms
Dan, My guess is the additional mass of the larger arm and possibly the better tracking ability of a long arm made all the difference.
sweet vinyl experience
If you are only interested in noise reduction and not in digitizing or wave shaping the music, then it works well out of the box. I heard it in some detail at AXPONA. There is a slight sound degradation but the click suppression is impressive.

Speaking of different arms and decks and the difference they make, especially with your "Decca" LDR in mind, I just got my Super Gold back from John Wright with a Decapod fitted and new Paratrace stylus. I installed it in my 9" Jelco TK-850 and it...

I did some quick listening to both with the Strauss on the LCa. The FRS3 sounded slightly cleaner and more detailed if not a little thinner and edgier. Is it bakelite or hard plastic? The CF had better bass and control but lacked sparkle.

2 rigs. The Quad ESL near field is one corner of 40’x26’x7’6" with beamed ceiling basement. The other system is the corner at the other end but is actually almost half the space at the other end.

TT, 12" Tonearm. Who tried and ended up preferring 12" arm?
@elliottnewcombjr Anti skating is a bigger deal with short arms. There is a general consensus that 12"+ arms do not require it.

I'm using the GF Globes. Detailed and transparent. Bright at first. Takes about 20-50 hours to burn in. Silent. Running fine after 18 months.

P.S. Stay with the Jelco magnesium headshell. You won't need anti-skating on the 12" although YMMV. You'll need phono cables. The Jelco 501 is perfectly good. Don't be tempted to replace it.

@elliotbnewcombjr I run 12" and 9" Jelco 850 on the same table. (I’ve also got two 12" 750s.) The 12" is better. It’s more open and dimensional. If you are going for the GEM, get the 850L 12". It is so much better than the 550/750. I’ve not heard ...

How much time are you going to put into this endeavor? Checking and pricing every album can be tiresome. Maybe list it here for sale as a collection instead.
