45 tubes for Yamamoto A-08s The mesh plate RGN 2004 Telefunken looks tempting.
Gregitek Sirius Speakers Looks like they're a lifestyle product from a company that builds nice cabinets and sends out a nicely-written PR sheet.
Car doors vibrating horribly. Is 150hz high pass crossover an ok fix? There’s a "10-band Graphic Equalizer" in your Sony head. Try adjusting that and/or the Xovers.
Did you ever hear exquisite electronics at a show?? In fact, I'm amazed for what passes as acceptable. I understand hotel rooms and noisy power are not conducive to extracting the best from equipment. I have found that with a few exceptions, rooms using turntables sound better.
Did you ever hear exquisite electronics at a show?? Most expensive systems at shows or at dealers do little to wow me to the point where I'd prefer them to my own.
Car doors vibrating horribly. Is 150hz high pass crossover an ok fix? The 150/150 solution sounds like the only cure apart from getting a car that doesn't rattle so much.
What is the most FUN pair of speakers you've ever had and why? Not so much the speaker but the time. Girls, parties, music. Home-made 40" high plywood reflex cabs with 12" McKenzie full range drivers driven by a 70watt KT88 amp. LOUD.
which is more musical? A REL or a SUMIKO subwoofer for two channel only? My S3 replaced a Strada lll and it is in a different league.
200g vinyl, more static? The additional height of a 200grm may insulate it more from static discharge.
Cartridge Tonearm compatibility Not a Maglev as in the floating platter table?
Where can I audition amps near Boston? @Feel free to wander in but don't expect to hear anything without an appointment.
Cartridge Upgrade - Nagaoka or Goldring Goldring 1042 has more energy than the Nagaoka. I'd go for that. I wouldn't spend much more though. Upgrade table instead.
Quad ESL service, Electrostatic Solutions or Quads Unlimited ? @mikeyaya My 57s are still going strong. Sweet as a nut.
which is more musical? A REL or a SUMIKO subwoofer for two channel only? Happy with my REL S3 SHO. Saving for a second one. Used, as they are replaced by the new S series which is a little more expensive. Very fast and tight when needed. You might look into 4 smaller ones like the t7 as an option.
LP made from a digital master recording... Analog tape print through and vinyl pre/post echo can add a richness to vinyl recordings. |
