OP, lighter and stiffer than paper with better damping than metal and more rigidity than plastic.
Hidden Sub maximising boot space of a car
I made an amplified one with a 12" McKenzie driver to fit the space. Sounded great.
Where can I audition amps near Boston?
Make an appointment with Goodwins. It is not a place where you can just browse by and say, "Can I hear that?"
The new amplifiers is getting warmer and hot
But doesn't Class D run cooler? More likely that the heavier, more expensive to build heat-sinking capacity is reduced in the newer amps along with more heat tolerant components which allow them to run hotter without damage.
Stereo Receivers from the past...

Should I buy a VPI SCOUTMASTER. I OWN 25 RECORDS.
If the ticks and pops bug you, stay with digital. The better your table and phono amp, the less you notice. Buy older used originals instead of new records. Cheaper and sound better.
Desktop Speakers - New Tannoy Golds versus Adam, Vanatoo etc
Heard Vanatoo at AXPONA. Very impressive. you're right to ignore Audio Engine - dull and bland.
