Anyone hear or own Musical Technology (Heil AMT's) speakers?
Ed Schilling Hornshoppe used them in 2012.: the_great_horned_heil.jpg (300×605) (thehornshoppe.com)
What's up with the price of Vintage equipment?
To me, vintage is (rebuilt) tubes and idlers from the 50s-60s! 1970s-80s Japanese transistor gear with lots of switches and silver fronts are mid-fi at best.
Feedback Issue
Acoustic feedback from the speakers back to the turntable. Does it stop when you reduce the volume? If so, your new rack is amplifying the sound. KAB make feet to stop that. I've not tried them but they've made a name for themselves in modding SL1...

@lalitk I’m inferring from the sable color that you are buying your 301 from Matthew Taylor. Re virgin stock units, he’s been supplying Audiosilente idlers on newer refurbished units. Do you know if yours will have one fitted? I would also check ...

Example of a piece o’ crap, useless review
Stereophile for one let it be know a while back that they only review products that they approve of, and do not review poor quality products. Therefore, there would be no bad reviews in the publication.
Turntable prices. Is my mind going?
Give me one audiophile with a $100,000 turntable over 1500 kids with Crosley suitcase players. Give me one Old World country mansion estate on 1000 acres over 4000 cheap family homes.

I much prefer comparative reviews. The British What Hi-Fi mag did(does) it. I always enjoyed Car magazine's shootouts of similar class cars.
