Legacy Focus SE or PS Audio FR20 I don't see anything wrong with the @audiotroy post. It's on topic. The dealer disclaimer is present and the comparative details listed appear clearly stated, although the claim of PS Audio cabinet build location should be confirmed.
Grant Fidelity Treasure Globe 6SN7 SE Not cheap but the most detailed 6SN7 I’ve heard. Needs 50 hours minimum to break in. Very bright initially but after 100 hours they become balanced across the frequency range with good soundstaging and see-through transparency.
What's the best 6NS7 tube you have tried in your Atma-Sphere MP-3 preamp? I use Shuguang Globes from Grant Fidelity. Not cheap but the most detailed 6SN7 I’ve heard. Needs 50 hours minimum to break in sounding best after 150 hours. Very bright initially.

How Many Times Do You Have To Listen To Understand A Piece Of Music? Some it's love at first sight (hear), others it takes a few listens for it to grow on me, and then there are those I can't stand from the get-go.
Celestine S20 troubleshooting The seem to be an inexpensive unit. Can't imagine it's worth repair costs.
Retirement integrated amp for a “fiscal conservative” Rolling 7581A in place of the EL34 will fix the bass. I’d like to get additional damping factor bass control than my current amp provides

Where should the Tubes Go in a Vintage Preamp / Amp System I was in the same quandary when I was starting out. I went with tube preamp and solid state power amp. This was great for a few years until I tried a tube power amp. I’ve been all tube since—now using rebuilt vintage tube monoblocs. |
