The Best Piano Works of the 20th Century
I overlooked Prokofiev’s. :-(  FWIW I highly prize Chiu’s 9 CD traversal of all of his music for solo piano including some transcriptions. I also overlooked Rachmaninoff’s 24 Preludes and Sonata #2.
The Best Piano Works of the 20th Century
Ravel's - Gaspard de la nuit and Debussy' Preludes. Both are post 1900 as are most of these composers music for solo piano. Their music should not be missed.
A way to listen to a large collection
rvpiano, an interesting approach. Somewhat similar to mine, but a tad more arbitrary I think. I too have a huge collection accumulated out of curiosity which has only rarely been purged of anything other than musical trash. (I don't own a recordin...

File in Small Claims Court. That might get them off their butt and pay your loss. If not you can always go thru with it. It is a pretty simple process.
WD 40 to remove scratches on vinyl !
Lets just say that putting WD 40 on records actually helped smooth out the grooves (and I'm not saying that!) anyone want to take a crack at what kind of damage might WD40 do to the stylus/cartridge? :-)
1970's Audio Research Equipment, worth having?
Harry, FWIW, be sure to hear the D115II before you buy it. I had one with my 'matching' SP10 - it was a disappointing experience. Not the SP10 - I kept it for 30 years, but I found the ARC lacked warmth and maintanence, both biasing and replacing ...
Advice Needed
I have this issue and get frequent warnings on the forums portion of audiogon from Malwarebytes. It did affect the sales portion but this appears to have been corrected.  What I don't understand, perhaps you do, what benefits do I get, other than ...
Phono Stage question
Yes. Take the phono stage out via the ’tape out’ on your Denon to any input on your ARC.
My 6922 Tubes Are Too Bright!
I was not aware that Mullard made a new production 6922/6dj8. Where were these found?
My 6922 Tubes Are Too Bright!
The new production JJ/Tesla E88CC is a very warm tube and quiet tube that I have used in a CDP with success. I've also used it in a headphone amp. It's cheap so give it a try, not much to lose.
Classical Music for Aficionados
I haven't heard this recording, or for that matter any of his recordings. My go to Preludes have been those by Tatiana Nikolayeva on Hyperion. I'll have to give his a try.FWIW, another Shostakovich performance I really enjoy is his Aphorisms, op13...
Classical Music for Aficionados
Bought a couple of CD’s from Presto a couple of months ago without problems. Never have had a problem with them.
Interconnects and non-believers
Apart from the possibility that the naysayer's systems are not revealing enough or set up poorly, the reason folks do not hear the differences is likely that they have not learned how to listen for sonic nuances as you apparently have. There reall...

Schubert, LOL, I've got a confession too. I'm not a newbie either. :-)I have a few of Lupu's Schubert recordings  which I really enjoy, but perhaps not so much as Richard Goode's recordings of his piano sonatas on Non-such. But that is probably on...

twoleftears, Re Boleros - Yep! Note in another thread there is a post by Granyring on the thread ’What used speakers rarely come up for sale to which I responded. Mine aren’t going anywhere. After 7 years they remain my eminent piece of audio gear...
