Klipsch La Scala replacement?
Lascalas are 24 inches wide. That is 4 ft of wall space needed for the two of them. What dimension ( s ) are the Lascala to large? Damp the horns, and they will be considerably cleaner. Other speakers ( B & W as an example), do not sound dynam...
If there was only ONE album/cd/release you can listen to, over and over.............
Excellent choices by many. Just thought it would be a fun exercise. Enjoy ! MrD.
Atma-Sphere Class D… Amazing
I leave my ss gear on 24 / 7. This caters to the musical aspects of the performers. Improved and consistent rhythm, prat, smoothness, liquid, ease & flow, speed, dynamics........likely a few more characteristics. I listen daily. When away for ...
If there was only ONE album/cd/release you can listen to, over and over.............
Hello all, and thank you for participating. I knew this would be hard for all, but it was presented as a deep, profound way for us to unleash our all time " best ", nothing more. I agree with so many titles listed on this thread. ABs at the Fillmo...
My Amp is good but probably the weak point
In other words, Massive stands, to get the midrange to ear height, and play with rear wall / side wall distance, and toe in. The Heresy 4 has a port on the rear, very similar to a pro model they produce ( ported, but on the front ). Very different...
My Amp is good but probably the weak point
There is not an amp that does everything. Same with Speakers, Dacs, etc. All because of system matching and integration. Synergy, is the word used here. YOU, as a listener, need to know what " specific characteristics " of recorded music, you are ...
Klipsch Speakers
Dynamat works wonders ( you can also use Peel & Seal roofing repair tape ). Stop the resonance and vibration !
Cornwall IV or La Scala vs the big boys
What I LOOK FOR with recorded music reproduction, Lascala, no doubt. I sit 8 ft away from them ( the same speaker ( portable ) PWK designed and built specifically for PA use during Rockefellers presidential campaigning ). He lost, and maybe becaus...
Thiel 3.5 vs Klipsch Forte IV Speaker choice
Thiel 3.5s should not be costing you that much. I see them all the time selling for under $1K, with the eq. Completely different presentation in sound between the two, and you likely know what they are. The Fortes will sound fabulous with your gea...
Old school shootout: Snell A/III vs. Original B&W 801
Eric, I had the A111s, and I remember them having the rear tweeter, which were on / off switchable. Never did care one way or the other about the rear tweeter. Away from the wall, the bass would suffer....ime.  I knew the Tandberg rep, and had som...
Old school shootout: Snell A/III vs. Original B&W 801
Space was never a problem for me with the Snells, as they went against the back wall ( think Roy Allison ). Unfortunately, they lacked dynamics, with every amplifier I tried them with. I was / am a dynamics freak, and also owned a pair of Lascalas...
IcePower1200AS: Who has heard or has them, with what system components? Do you love them?
So, tweak1, are you saying the 1200 is allowing you to not miss the GAN 350 ? You have stated many times, there is no comparison....that the LSA GAN is far superior in every way. I am currently shopping for a Class D that I can happily live with. ...
Why do Tube Amps sound more romantic v SS amps
As stated above about the SIT3 " better resolution and transient speed ". IME, these two characteristics, along with lower noise ( electrically, mechanically and acoustically ), having tuneful, robust control of the woofers ( along with the dog ho...
Experience with applying Kilmat to Cornwall IV Horns?
To the OP...Enjoy ! My best, always, MrD.
Experience with applying Kilmat to Cornwall IV Horns?
I just completed damping a pair of Heresy III, and the client is " thrilled " at the added " cleanliness of the presentation ".....his words......
