Why does most new music suck?
Actusreus,No argument, but consider the music prior to Elvis and The BEatles to that after. Big difference! I was born in 1959 (13 years older than you). Music changed in big ways over the next two decades from the time I was born. To some extent ...
M-Lores or Aon 3: bass/imaging
"I think some of you selling the Aon'3 short."Could be. I'd judge them as solid contenders and potential best values at their price point based on limited audition time at a dealer, but would have to listen to them a lot more to say for sure.
Bass leaves after amp warms up?
Another lesson learned for me was when something is not going right, keep things as simple as possible. For example, don't attempt to bi-wire right out of the gate. Audiophiles (including myself) tend to make things more complicated over time. WHe...
Bass leaves after amp warms up?
For me it reminded me of the the need to make sure fundamentals (like proper wiring) are correct and not assume that just because someone does not like what they hear, that it is necessarily the equipment's fault. I knew all of that already I supp...
Speakers with fullness and weight?
Its a very interesting and relevant topic of discussion, but I would find it more beneficial if some specific examples of speakers not delivering up to snuff and why were cited to support some the generalized arguments presented that I have troubl...
Bass leaves after amp warms up?
Even now, I am not quite sure the bi-wiring was done in a harmful way, but it was clearly ill advised and increased the chances of doing it wrong and experiencing problems as a result. There was so much going on at the OPs end that it was very har...
Bass leaves after amp warms up?
"But why didn't it end a long time ago? "I could be wrong but I do not recall the ill advised attempt to bi-wire the speakers from a single source amplifier ever coming up until late in the game, after the issue had apparently been addressed alrea...
Humor In Music
Amongst his many popular attributes, Johnny Cash often demonstrated a fantastic sense of humor. The unique thing about him was his ability to establish a special connection to so many in so many different ways. Humor was just one of the ways.
Humor In Music
Genesis often displayed a whimsical sense of humor in their music (Phil Collins especially so, particularly on-stage).Another lesser known British progressive rock band that incorporated subtle humor as an element of many of their best works is Ca...

"The spirit of assistance was strong in this thread."Oh, yeah, that too!Luckily, the force was with us I suppose....
Speakers with fullness and weight?
"One more quick observation: this trait of so many high end speakers which cannot portray richness and power is why so few end up in studios."Not sure I agree. I think the reason is that speakers used in studios are designed specifically for studi...
Bel Canto REF1000M vs. Simaudio Moon 400M
1grab,For what is is worth, I have found that ICs used to feed my Bel Canto ref1000m monoblocks can make a huge difference in resulting sound from smoother and more laid back to considerable bite, at least with some speakers and associated room ac...
Why does most new music suck?
I'd be willing to bet that if some of those who are currently down on most new music would ramp up their "creative drug" input to their adolescent and early adult levels, their perspectives might change and perhaps even broaden.
Why does most new music suck?
Assuming what was said above to the effect of simple melodies being the best (which I agree with), that bodes well for music both now and in the future, plus creative drugs most likely need not play a major role. There will always be those who are ...

Adle,HAven't heard Sjofn (The Clue) speakers, but I would say your accounting of the Goldenear Aon3s and the Dynaudios is most consistent with my experiences with both to date.A "good solid apple-bosomed Dutch girl"? Dynaudio is Danish. Close enough?
