I notice a lot of reviewers buy the sample piece
It's an endorsement but not the ultimate unless the list price is paid.  Cmon this is America where money always speaks loudest. .  Could reviewers on the take possibly surprise anyone.
When I have seen people listing their systems lately
I used to rip to wav now exclusively to flac.  I download purchased tracks as well on occasion.

I keep all my CDs both for archiving as well and on display.  Stored CDs on otherwise flat walls are good  for room acoustics to-boot.

Swamp I use Plex app for remote play.  It can access my server at home or download local copies of files  though I have not leveraged that feature yet.   Also creates playlists of similar tracks like Pandora or of music of a particular mood with d...

I've Noticed Lately That There's Threads About Being Noticed Lately
Ive noticed also these threads get a lot of attention and responses.  Like keeping up with taters instead of Kardasians or the national enquirer.  Inquiring minds want to know.    Now a thread about the threads even. What's the problem?  E network...
How can it be that some old recordings sound sublime?
Also as mentioned recordings were all analog mastered largely with tube based gear which imparts a unique sound to recordings of the era preceding transistors. That makes most any recording from the time audio candy of a sort.  Also so nowadays au...
How can it be that some old recordings sound sublime?
When lp records first hit, for many years great care was taken in regards to sound quality because it was a new and marketable thing and the sound is what helped sell as much as the performance.   The technology needed to make good recordings was ...
I am really disappointed with the hip-hop enthusiasts on Audiogon
All rappers worth their salt should buy Magico now!  🔊🔊🔊
Thiel Owners

T8disconnecting the cable wire should indicate if that is the problem. If the hum exists only with cable wire connected. I I had this problem with Comcast specifically. I switched to Verizon which uses optical ire feeds afterwards and no more hum....
