Is New Vinyl Exempt from Loudness Wars?
"they will send the master digital file with the understanding that the LP mastering engineer will deal with it as needed. "Isn’t that pretty much what they sent the CD mastering engineer as well? The end result will depend mostly on what determin...

Its a dog eat dog world. Always has been, always will. Mother nature can be cruel that way and always wins. We’ve just managed to change the paradigm to money and wealth as the main weapon to help determine the winners.   You can both play the gam...

Really good info.   Thanks so much.
No bass with new turntable?
Off course make sure the recordings you test with have good bass to start with.   Many records do but many do not.   Could be an inferior copy on vinyl of something that sounds good on CD.  What records are you testing with specifically?

Atmasphere I know it can be different for that reason. My question is if it is in fact done that way? What is the intended audience? Audiophiles that care about the best possible sound or Iphone and Bluetooth speaker users looking for a new toy? A...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
"Don’t you know?"Apparently either you don’t or do and won’t say. So if you do how about answering your own question? Or do you derive some kind of unique pleasure from being a tease?  Not that anyone really cares most likely at this point.  Just ...
Audio Research discontinuing lower lines components?
Its not hard to get good sound these days. If you are targeting high end, whatever that means, you probably have to be pricey and build Lamborghinis. But how many people really want or need a Lamborghini? Gotta make your money somehow.Really sorry...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
macdad, every device is designed to use a particular value fuse in terms of how much current will pass before blowing out.The risk with audiophiles is forgetting what the primary purpose of a fuse is: to protect the equipment from accidental damag...
