Who, do you think, designs the best looking tube-based devices? I do like Decware aesthetic. Kinda classical looking.
Hard of Hearing Audiophile. Glad to hear the OP was able to find his way. Knowing your goal + perseverance is always the key.
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 Yes I have only heard 40.2 set up in large room away from walls. In smaller room closer to walls or corner with more bass reinforcement from the room I might be concerned going in about too much bass and no way to tame it other than eq or tone con...
Can anything be down about this? There must be an agenda! If the waveform is clipped you can’t do anything to reverse that. Otherwise you can attempt to remaster the file yourself with a tool like audacity.
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 Right I think it was LTA tube amp of some sort at CAF driving Spatials.Tube amp but LTA is a unique design and does not sound like most tube amps. Much lower output impedance I believe which is a good thing to my ears..the best of both good SS and...
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 @gte357s Yes, totally different setups in all regards. Very hard to compare concisely other than both were top notch in their own way in my opinion, though much different.Harbeth 40.2 was at Deja Vu Audio in Northern VIrginia in their large showro...
Finding the bad tube 👍 | |
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 Correction:The Harbeths I auditioned were 40.2, not 40.1.
Footers under my speakers double the perceived value of my speakers! No its not height it is floor interactions. I've used same speakers upstairs on suspended plywood and downstairs on solid foundation (thin but dense carpet and pad). Same height. The same isolation under the speakers does nothing on the solid...
Who, do you think, designs the best looking tube-based devices? I do like the Frankenstein lab look of a lot of tube gear out there but for me Audio Research still puts out some of the classiest looking tube gear.
Who, do you think, designs the best looking tube-based devices? Real men prefer Manley of course.
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 Yea I have heard both spatial and Harbeth 40.1 and presentation is much different but both were very good with midrange when I heard them. I’d be Very careful judging solely on You Tube.
Harbeth 30.1 or 40.1 40.1 seem designed for larger rooms and yes far out from walls. I’d start with the smaller Harbeths in that room.Buy used and don’t overpay or buy new with return policy if you want to keep your options open.
Footers under my speakers double the perceived value of my speakers! Fat or muddy bass obscures detail in the midrange which then also negatively affects imaging. Very common with suspended plywood floors. Isolation helps clean that up. I use Auralex Subdude iso pads under my floorstanders and the difference is muc...
Is there a magic formula for spending on components in a system Try this to assess the sound in lieu of measurement gear: https://ohmspeaker.com/news/thinking-outside-the-box-listening-outside-the-room-or-the-bouncing-sound/ |
