High Efficiency Speakers Your top 3 or more
I have not heard many like that actually. Some I would like to hear are Avantgarde and Classic Audio Reproductions (I think their horns qualify though I do not know their efficiency specs).Cardersound is a reasonably priced line that I would like t...
High Efficiency Speakers Your top 3 or more
How highly efficient? Is 89-90 db enough? I think that gets you into the ballpark with most good tube amps. Or are we talking only horn loaded or similar designs much higher than that?
Fleetwood Mac
"Then Play On" would be next for me.Be aware that this is a totally different beast bearing the same name. The full version of "Oh Well" on there is a seldom heard classic and worth acquiring just for that, but the rest is worth it also. Also Linds...

"I have ordered 3rd which i shall mount over the listening position so it can affect the ambient fields of my body. "Is that a good thing?
Jazz from 1957 to 1967 was the most definitive.
"As bop and later hard bop distanced itself from danceability and stopped being an easy listening experience, jazz became a niche musical product."That's very true! The most popular music forms almost always lend themselves to dancing. I don't see...
AntiCables v. Morrow?
DNM Reson wires should put you in a very good place in terms of wires. I use the ICs and are more familiar with those, but from what read the speaker wires have similar attributes. By very good place, I mean exceptionally clean, tight detailed and...
Best blues guitarist, Clapton or Green
I don't know who's better but Clapton has produced a lot more stuff over the years to judge by, hasn't he?If the topic is British Blues guitarists, I'd toss Kim Simmonds into the competition. Not as high brow perhaps as those other two, but a tale...

I like Guitar Shorty a lot too!
Jazz from 1957 to 1967 was the most definitive.
I think creativity in Jazz and its relevance to the masses peaked in that general time frame with the likes of Miles Davis, John Coltrane and various other cohorts. THings kind of hit a plateau then in terms of creativity and diversity. Also, more...
Bel Canto Ref1000 MK2 Or Ref 500m ?
I really like the low end of the ref1000mkii's. When I first heard them, they sounded lean in comparison to my prior MF a3cr on the OHM Walshes. Once my ears adapted I determined that the low end was actually quite clean, tight and articulate. The...
Best of the "Best of Chicago" Compilations
I have "Group Portrait", which is pretty comprehensive. Recording quality varies with Chicago track to track across so many albums, from mostly good to very good.Surprising about the Rhino collection. Rhino stuff is usually pretty good though ther...

Khkenny,There is some truth in what you say but I don't think that is how these things are advertised to work. They supposedly address EM noise problems but in a different manner than say Mu Metal, according to the vendor site. I don't see any cla...
Tube or Solid State
Based on the limited information about the OP that we are working with so far, I'd say the SS will be the safer choice with the greater chance of fully satisfying and delivering optimal performance. The tube amp may be a good choice as well, but ca...
Tube or Solid State
How big is the room and what kinds of music do you care most about? Also what pre-amp will you be using?
