Quobuz subscription You can’t really draw a conclusion regarding how two services sound based on a tiny sample. I mean you can of course but it does not hold much water. Source material used for streaming varies case by case. Try a sound meter on them. I find hi...
Cambridge CXN V2 or Innuos Pulse Mini? Regarding support, I had some questions regarding the Bluetooth with my Cambridge Evo and their support via email was very responsive. However, when you buy, buy from a reputable vendor that offers good customer service overall when needed, inclu...
Cambridge CXN V2 or Innuos Pulse Mini? Also the inputs supported are important and will vary. You may need or want certain options there that help decide. Personally, any streamer I buy at this point must support latest USB, AirPlay, and google cast protocol versions. That is a key dif...
Cambridge CXN V2 or Innuos Pulse Mini? Many current Cambridge products are getting top grades in reviews, including that streamer. I moved to an Evo 150 about a year ago and love it. Also learned some things along the way and found the reviews to be reliable indicators of what to ex...
Experience with Townshend Seismic Podiums on Concrete Floor (they're great) @jtcf yes they work well and fit my beefed up bottom ported Ohm Walsh 2s with 8” driver that are 12” square at the base perfectly. 100 lb might be ok depending. Probably not if spikes. Maybe Auralex publishes weight limits.

Audiophile sound quality from a more "mainstream" company? I’ve had a Cambridge Audio Evo 150 for about a year now. . My assessment is it is very competitive and in the same league in all regards.

8-10k budget suggestions please Try a Cambridge Evo 150, save lots of money getting great sound, and call it a day. I did.
streaming and audiophile stereo It can happen of course but probably not in practice with most any good quality, proven, modern streamer. It’s digital so pretty much anything including a “house sound” to differentiate from others if desired if possible.
Sound quality of new vinyl recordings. @ghdprentice I hear you. I’m only a few years behind you. I used to post my system but always decide to take it down after awhile due to privacy concerns. I do have lots of pictures though and am not against sharing those case by case as needed. ...
Sound quality of new vinyl recordings. A good digital recording these days can easily reproduce what’s in most older analog recordings. I never dumped my older vinyl and still pick older vinyl up whenever I can if the price is right. Especially obscure older albums from the golden age ... |
