Such a horrible overrated product!  Must be nice to still be the reference that others are compelled to compare to after many years.

Been giving the “Super Stereo” hi res stations a spin via my Cambridge Evo 150. My first fling with high res. Very nice! 96khz 24 bit FLAC.

86 db sensitivity may be a significant factor in years past but need not be an issue with modern amp technology.  You just have to be smart and use the facts and not your emotions when buying.

Still have my Linn Axis which is a lp12 for dummies on a budget since 1987.   Love it!  Dread the day when I might finally have to replace it.

If you have a higher resolution station like Radio Paradise there is nothing to not like. Lower res can be OK for some music but inferior for critical listening. Lower res may still be overkill for many devices people listen on, but for a good hif...

No surprise everyone has a different generalized answer. The correct answer is still the devil is in the details so it depends. Cost or product category alone assure nothing. I will say from personal experience that $3k spent wisely on a digital...

The definitive answer without question is:  it depends.   Like most things the devil is in the details and generalizations do not carry much weight.

Since no two setups ever sound exactly the same there will always be some difference in the details of the sound and the details of the new sound may or may not have been heard before. The new details may be welcome or not. Depends on the listener...
