Am I Getting Soft Here? Nothing soft about achieving one’s goals. Especially when done cost effectively. Well done! Just sit back now and smell the roses.
Which power cords have high resolutions and separation?? Take your pick of any good quality wire. Need not cost much. For power amps current delivery is more important. For line and phono level and digital devices, shielding is a good thing.
Nearly all manufacturers do not advertise/exhibit their product measurements? Why? Peolke get a little ornery sometimes when there are no facts that support a belief. Facts are good! always better off with them than without. Wishing something to be true has limited potential.
Nearly all manufacturers do not advertise/exhibit their product measurements? Why? If a manufacturer thinks their customers care about measurements, they are more likely to publish meaningful ones. Otherwise, they can do whatever they want. Pretty sure these things are not regulated? Why? Because most listeners could care less a...
CAMBRIDGE AUDIO CXC V2 EXPERIENCE I am also somewhat of a Cambridge fan these days. Don’t overlook them!
Solid state to tube Linear tube Audio all the way in this case for good value to do the job well. Read their tech literature to see why. Ref 3a speakers are not all that tube friendly as they may seem on paper from what I have gathered over the years from owners. Re...
Pleasurably better, not measurably better Measurements are a tool. Use them wisely! The end result: Pleasure. Ahhhhhh…..🙏

Do I need a streamer? Arguments about streamer versus computer are way too generalized. Many things contribute to computer sound quality and you have control over all of them. With streamers you get what you get. Most are good these days so little risk with proven prod...
Do I need a streamer? @whitestix Feel free to contact me here using private messaging to discuss if you like. I’ve been streaming various ways for many years to my pretty nice hifi setup for many years and have a good bit of experience to draw on there. Try this exp...
System that sounds so real it is easy to mistaken it is not live Yes. Sounds like the players are live in my room every day with my current setup and not just with live recordings.
Do I need a streamer? The key to good quality streaming from a general purpose computer is keep the “noisy” computer physically well away from the hifi gear by using a long wire to connect. Mine is a good 8 feet or so away connected by a long good quality USB wire and ...
Get out and listen! Nothing beats as many good quality live performances as one can soak in to get the true vibe of what music should sound like.
Pleasurably better, not measurably better I look at (meaningful) specs, measurements and other objective data to identify items of interest. That enables one to cut to the chase and start experiencing the pleasure of good sound. You might hear some good things and not have anything object... |
