Anybody still use a Hegeman Hapi 2? Traded a Creek 5050 for a Hapi 2 and Acurus A80 many years ago. One cool preamp!
Sad to say I need a new amp… The B&K EX-442 Sonata is a stud of an amp. Extremely tube like. Had one years ago, sold it & then immediately plugged in a pair of Paoli M70 (heavily moded Dyna MkIII’s) expecting to hear a big difference, and couldn’t tell the amps apar...
Audiolab CDT 6000 Owners: Share the Love + Need help with time settings for Pause Mine hasn’t defaulted to 15 minutes after I put it in standby. I’m not sure I could duplicate this though so I’ll just leave it be. I always hated the auto Standby feature anyway.
Please Recommend Highly Efficient Floor Standing Non-Horn Speaker Suggestions Many hi efficiency non horn speakers are single driver speakers like Omega or Lowthers or back loaded horn cabinets. I’ve been in this hobby 40 years and used to sell audio gear at the retail level & wouldn’t necessarily suggest high efficien...

Please settle a bet! ….and that Brandon magic continues….if anyone believes he really got 81 mil legit votes, you should also prefer Lloyds to Audio Research too. Impossible bet to settle, just split the single malt & enjoy your systems.
Audiolab CDT 6000 Owners: Share the Love + Need help with time settings for Pause Despite any idiosyncrasies with the remote, this is a pretty solid player. I’m using a 1.5M Kimber Kable Coax on the transport and some cheaper Coax on my Bluesound Node 2i that’s not as good with an Audio-gd NFB-1s DAC. Other gear: Meridian...

The Wilt Chamberlain of Audio Gear Ok, it’s nearly a year later and my life has taken about the most drastic 180 ever! Six months ago, I moved overseas to Israel and about 2.5 months ago, my audio gear arrived. I tried to assemble the perfect desert island system of a small syste...
Audiolab CDT 6000 Owners: Share the Love + Need help with time settings for Pause You need to have “Repeat” on, otherwise, it will stop at the end of the cd With mine, I have to manually put it into standby now. No more annoying Automatic Standby
Has your system evolved in the past 10 years? Best Audio Sale Story Ever Occurred about 10 years ago. A young European guy wanted to buy my whole system from me. Custom Conn organ tube amp, Nakamichi BX125, Rega Planar 3, Yamaha int amp used as a preamp, Celestion 100 speakers and my audi...
Audiolab CDT 6000 Owners: Share the Love + Need help with time settings for Pause Ok, I did something tonight and I think I reset the Standby feature to “Never”? Push Standyby on the remote for 3 seconds until it says VER-044, then press it again and it will say 20 min, press again it says 1 Hr, press it a 3rd time and it wi...
Chip amps, not spoken about much, except on the diy sites. russ69, there is also very many high powered chip amps out there too. The only high powered one I heard was from Channel Islands and it was very good. Mostly, I feel that these chip amps really benefit from a tube preamp in front of it.
Chip amps, not spoken about much, except on the diy sites. I’ve owned several of the Derek Sanderson Fleawatt amps and have always enjoyed them very much. At the time, I had a 3 wpc 6B4G SET (basically a 6V 2a3 I was told), and after hearing a 3118 or 3116 chip amp, I could not justify running tubes as t...
Audiolab CDT 6000 Owners: Share the Love + Need help with time settings for Pause I just got one 2 months ago, not sure I understand what you mean by “pause clock?” Kind of hate how it always goes into stand by. Minor inconvenience, it’s a very solid transport. |
