British Integrated Amps Hbarrel - I had an AMC CVT3030 many years ago in the early 90’s, nice piece, but I never considered that a British design? Was Weltronics from the UK?skoczylas - always heard really good things about Croft gearnonoise - ditto with Exposure gear too
British Integrated Amps I also had a very rare Celestion Ditton Elan integrated amp that was very beefy sounding but it had bipolar outputs. I prefer Mosfets, sounds warmer and more realistic to me.
British Integrated Amps Jess - Is that the original Brio or the 2017 Brio you are referring to?
B&K ST-140 amplifier buying decision The B&K ST140 had at least 7 different versions I believe, 3 black with silver handles (70 wpc, 105 wpc, 105 wpc w/ toroidal transformer) and the black with black handles with red lettering. And then silver lettering without handles and one wi...
Old Amps that can still Kick Butt @knotscottThat’s a great story. Mr Rosenberg addressed the Phila Triode Symposium dressed in a full Native American feather headdress that sported a vacuum tube as the keystone of his feather headdress and an Irish kilt. There were many other Audi...
Old Amps that can still Kick Butt I don’t know how to do those fancy looking things to include ones comments, but to answer what knotscott said:“It’s been fun reading through this thread and seeing some blasts from the past. I built a DH500 from a kit in 1985, then moved on to a N...

Jolida JD-402 Tube Tuners Except the quality isn’t poor, it’s built like a brick blank house and weighs like one too, and it’s probably the best sounding digital tuner I’ve heard because of the tubes - and I’ve owned a lot of good tuners. (Free free to see “my tuner evolu...
Any audiophiles in Israel or Europe here? He was the patriarch of two monotheistic faiths, Judaism and Islam; but that’s not really what we are here to talk about, right?
Any audiophiles in Israel or Europe here? oldhvymec - I’ll be in Israel, not Iran. Same here, I kept the Sabbath & still try to as well :)willgolf - definitely going to check out WBF, thanks! But I’m not ready to start over at this time. Maybe in a while though.gregm - once settled...
Any audiophiles in Israel or Europe here? I’m not planning to, only to visit. Audio gear is expensive there, at least this one audio dealer on eBay has astronomical prices for his gear compared to buying it in the US.
Class D amps that are superior to all or most? I think the actual chip used has a lot to do with it too. As time goes on, hobbyists are finding out which chips are preferred over other ones. Like the 3116, 3118, 7297 as opposed to the earlier 3886.Check out the Fleawatts by Derek Sanderson. ...
Jolida JD-402 Tube Tuners Set it up and it sounds very nice & picks up stations cleanly. AM doesn’t pick up anything, even with an antenna. I’ll try a different AM antenna. The FM antenna is just a thin wire too. I have no remote so I cannot store or recall station...
Jolida JD-402 Tube Tuners I’m getting one later today without the remote, but I basically listen to 2 stations in Philadelphia anyway and they are right next to each other. I’ll post my impressions later. Looking forward to hearing it :)
