Is It Common For Questions About Gear For Sale To Go Unanswered?
Why not ask VPI what their B means? Could indicate “black”. What is “B stock” anyway? I’ve seen the term used but not defined. Anyway you probably don’t want to do business with a seller who won’t answer a simple question. Can you be sure he’s rec...
What are the audio differences you hear with turntable Mats.
A platter mat is like subtle seasoning in your food. All types are subtly different from one another, and you as the diner need to figure out what’s best in your system.
Current sensing phono stages w/Rega?
What is the “it” in your last post?

Yes you would. (Have trouble convincing me.)
Cartridge Advice Please
With your Sussuro, what load resistance did you use? That (MI) cartridge has a 10 ohm internal R but high inductance compared to any MC. Thus the typical MC load of 100 ohms is too low. That cartridge likes 400-500 ohms minimum. And it’s not meant...

Mijo, You wrote, "Analog crossovers add distortion and phase shifts. Some can shift phase 180 degrees with a knob but only by ear which is a trial and error nightmare."  Do you seriously believe that doing a DAC to ADC conversion, where also the ...
Current sensing phono stages w/Rega?
Since hum by conventional definition is usually 60Hz or 120Hz, you really cannot filter it out without destroying bass response.  I don't understand "floating ground" with a single-ended connection. (You say Rega does not use a balanced connection...
Current sensing phono stages w/Rega?
Sorry for perhaps being overly bossy.  But again, you would be doing no harm to Roy Gandy's design.  Wires is wires.  If it's beyond your skill set or your desire to do the work, I am sure you can find a local person competent to do it.  I have ne...
Current sensing phono stages w/Rega?
You’d be “modifying” the wiring, not the tonearm, in such a way as to make it suit your needs and which could always be put back to original. It’s just a thing you bought with your money to suit your needs. It’s not a holy object.
Current sensing phono stages w/Rega?
It should be possible to rewire the Rega to make it compatible with balanced, floating ground operation. All you’d need is a soldering iron, a pair of XLR plugs or RCAs where you’d solder the negative phase output to the outer barrel while also di...

If you look at the Stereophile review of even the old SoundLab A1, they measured the panel as flat out past 20kHz, so the need for a super tweeter escapes me. But of course ESLs do beam at HF. Depends where you sit, and your hearing acuity. Your p...

drbond, In most cases both the HPF and the LPF built in to a high grade commercial sub would be ACTIVE filters, not the same as just inserting a capacitor in series with your main ampifier, which is a PASSIVE filter. The difference is that in an a...

Mijo, my question was specifically what are you using to provide digital domain filtering, that is, what brand and model? Thanks. Here on Audiogon and elsewhere there are always a plethora of good high power solid state amplifiers for sale pre-ow...

Holmz, the first two of your last 3 bullet points would result in bypassing the main amplifier.

Thanks for taking the time. Taken by itself, the meaning of “flow” as you use it is not “self evident”. Now you’ve defined it, I get it. Harry Pearson coined the term “continuousness”, which I think is similar in definition if not identical.
