Use of Camelot Uther with SACD player???
The Uther VC is analog. It consists of an array of resistors which are selected by relays. If you feed it with the output of the Genesis, the Uther will do the D/A and VC for RedBook CDs.
PCM or Bitstream
I suspect that the reason it seems to make no difference is that there is none in your setup. If you are using the digital output to the preamp/receiver, this option is to choose whether it is going to output DD and DTS along with PCM. You will ei...
I have a general question about surround sound.

How to control volume on an integrated and amp
Get a speaker-to-line level adapter. Common from the auto audio guys.
Fine speed adjustment on Empire 698 ?
Most Empires, afaik, had crowned pulleys and a screw adjustment on one of the motor mounts to shift the belt on the pulley. A crude but effective speed adjustment.A more elegant and $$$ alternative is a VPI SDS controller.

Redbook layer on SACD - good enough?
In addition to all his other comment with which I concur, Ben Campbell wrote: "So if the information on this is correct then the DSD process can be used to make CD's as well as SACD's."Only if it is converted to PCM as it usually is. I was questio...
Redbook layer on SACD - good enough?
"is it common to manufacturers to make CD layer worse then SACD layer intentionally?"Dunno. They have been accused of it but, aside from the DSOTM SACD, I know of no evidence.
Redbook layer on SACD - good enough?
"And more important is SACD being played on SACDP sounds lot better than DSD layer to be played on Redbook CDP at the same price range, or even more expensive."How do you play a DSD layer on a Redbook CDP?
Redbook layer on SACD - good enough?
Buy it. No difference unless the manufacturer intentionally wanted to make one.
"Redbook CD's" ??
Regular audio CDs. The 'red book' was where the specs were originally defined.

PMC or M&K for Home Theatre
I have not heard these particular M&Ks. OTOH, there's no need for 5 identical speakers for HT, although I would make a case for them for multichannel music listening. That said, unless the PMC's are too big or lacking is SAF, I would stick wit...
upgrading from McCormack DNA-1 to.....?
I doubt it's the McCormacks. Have you tried the SL3s in your room with another amp?
Revel Studios and Tube Amps
Probably but your room and listening habits are factors. I use them with 200wpc tubes and similar SS amps.
