They sounded very nice at CES but I wouldn't say they eliminate the competition. You gotta go with the styling, though.
Redbook: only 1/4 of the master tape???
I do not know what you read or from where but it sounds like nonsense to me.
Question for designers. Acive or passive??
Dunno.
Quality of Demo LPs
Just avoid the ones that say "Radio Mix" or similar. These are EQed peaky for broadcast and listening on cheap radios.

If your codicil is to be taken seriously, you should find the best custom HT shop in your town and you can act as the advisor. They will have the skills and experience to hide and integrate the equipment well beyond the abilities of most serious a...
Pre/Pro with 2 MCH analog inputs plus..
No. The Bryston and the Pre5 have 6 analog channels, although they each handle them a bit differently as the Bryston has digital processing as well. The only way to convert your 2channel preamp to 5.1 is to buy 2 more!

Naxos, the way to go for classical?
Another option for advise is the magazine, Fanfare, which reviews lots of classical recordings. It is a source of lots of great information.
Impedance issues???
No. (No. No. No. Added since audiogon won't accept a 2 letter response even though it says it all.)

Of course, I was able to play some of my own selections and that's how I realized that there were tricky room modes at work. On some cuts, they reinforced the bass to a wondrously impressive degree but, on a few, it was overblown and indistinct.Th...
