Sound is too thin. What to upgrade, add or remove?
What I see is a very hard, reflective room with very little in the way of absorbent materials. So you probably have lots of bass but too much of everything else for proper balance. I would suggest putting in wide-range absorbent panels and/or trap...
McIntosh MVP851 or Denon 5900
I don't generally write lengthy articles for the website but, if you have any specific questions that I can answer about these components, ask. However, all I know is from a brief press presentation and the datakit I took home.Kal

Mccormack DNA-1 Rev. B or DNA 225
I have not used a Rev.B but I found the Rev.A DNA-1 a bit warmer than the DNA225. Conversely, the DNA225 was a bit more incisive. So, it really depends on what you want/need.Kal
DLP vs Plasma/LCD
Eandylee wrote: "Kr4 and Jer mentioned replacing burbs...I know there's buring bulb issue with plasma but DLP?"1. I never mentioned anything about burbs (or bulbs).2. There are no bulbs or bulb issues with plasma.Kal
Replacement of Camelot Uther,Morgana,Dragon
Cannot think of anything preferable for RBCD anywhere near the price.
DLP vs Plasma/LCD
The 42" commercial Panasonic seems the consensus favorite of the AVSforum denizens. However, Sony, NEC, Hitachi and Pioneer have growing support. The problem is that there is no easy way to see any of them set up optimally and certainly no easy wa...

DLP vs Plasma/LCD
Here's my 2cents about the relative drawbacks:1. DirectView CRT or RP, of any sort, are too bulky and get the way of the audio. 2. Large screen LCD (>42") is too expensive.3. FP requires the room to be dimmed for even casual viewing.4. Plasma i...
Sonic Frontiers- Quality and Reliability?
I had a Line-2, now a Line-3 (and Power-3s), and both have been exceptionally reliable. I did have one problem with the Line-3 when it arrived. A low level of hiss, but higher than it should be, was cured by snipping out a resistor from the ps. Si...
Preamps paired with DNA 225 or other McCormacks
I've heard them work well with the AE L-1 and SF's Line-2 and Line-3.Kal

The Meridian 861 v4 does have room correction and, if you feed it to Meridian DSP loudspeakers, it the D/A comes after the crossovers.Kal
Most Flexible Audiophile Preamp
If you are going to tolerate A/D/A, as in the TacT, then the Meridian Reference 860 is the winner since you can pack it with your own selection of input and/or output boards and configure it with almost complete freedom.Kal
Most Flexible Audiophile Preamp
Oh, and while I am at it, the much less expensive Line-1 and Line-2 have the same capabilities.Kal

"All switching, setting of volume, balance, absolute polarity, mono/stereo, etc. can be done by remote control."SF Line-3 does that, too.Kal
