Velodyne DD15 - internal wiring
I took these photos before disconnecting so I would know how to hook it up again.
Velodyne DD15 - internal wiring
I have detailed photos of my DD15 amp wiring. I did this when I sent mine in for repair. Give me your email, and I will send them to you. They should help a lot.   John
Anybody else get a NAD M66 yet?
To all the owners of M66. I have seen the meters function in white. Can you change the color to other choices?
Benchmark AHB2 in Mono Block Configuration
Some people have done the bridging and liked it a lot while others have not. This tells me that it's system dependent. With the number of AHB2 amps that come up, and go on the used market, it would be very easy to try it yourself. That's the only ...
Anybody else get a NAD M66 yet?
Can you hook up a self powered hard drive (2 TB) to the USB input and play WAV files? If so, how do you view the files to play? Do you use a TV hooked up to the M66, or can you see your files on an iPad?
Free air, tighter bass - snake oil or cheap tweaks?
Erik, I thought you were making a joke, but I soon realized you didn't mean covering the front of the speakers, and the drivers.
MBL Owners: The "Why" Behind Our Choices and the Search for the Ultimate "Wow" Factor
Well, I don't have any MBL, but my story is just what you're looking for. Many years ago at AXPONA in Jacksonville, FL I was checking out the audio rooms. I had been to quite a few as I started at the top floor and worked my way down. One room on ...
Belles preamplifiers -- experiences at different levels?
I have owned a VT-01 preamp and tried a few different tubes. It was OK, but nowhere near the resolution of my Benchmark HPA4. But then that's probably the tubes vs. solid state debate, and I don't wish to open that can of worms.
Bryston BP-17 cubed or Benchmrk LA4 Preamp
The Benchmark HPA4 preamp is the LA4 preamp with a great headphone amp inside. It is a fantastic piece.
Use of Y connector rather than passive preamp
There are some inexpensive passive preamps that accept more than one input. I think Schiit has one, and also look for a used Tortuga as they come with remotes.
One DAC to Rule it All
@mirolab  You're right. My Benchmark preamp will not work to control both the mains and subs. Luckily my Auralic G1 server has software volume (32 bit) and works really well through my iPad. As you say I will be just "messing around" with this se...
One DAC to Rule it All
Well, my subs were originally Velodyne DD15', but over time both plate amps broke down and even the one I got repaired broke again. That was it for me, so I opened them up and ran the driver wire to some banana jacks that I installed on the plate ...
One DAC to Rule it All
My subs are 15" drivers in a 3 ft^3 sealed box. They are powered by a Crown 2500 amp, and the drivers are 4 Ohm. My listening room is large because my home is an open floor plan and the system is in the living room.  I'm going to the Tampa hi-fi ...
One DAC to Rule it All
That's what I was thinking. Why use the OKTO at all if the DBX can accept an AES/EBU signal from my streamer. That way I will only have one conversion, but I will have to use the 32 bit volume control in my Auralic G1 instead of my Benchmark HP4 p...
One DAC to Rule it All
I also want to thank everyone for sending in their thoughts. I suppose dipping my toe into the digital realm more than once is considered blasphemy in home audio, but I am getting very enjoyable sound. I am considering the DEQX route as their inte...
