Single way or multiway
What about the Reference 3A Nefes II speakers? They have basically no crossover except for a protective cap on the tweeter. They are also a d'Appolito configuration design.
DIY Speaker Kits, a good idea?
Usually it's the box that is hard to make. A strong, non resonating speaker cabinet takes a lot of bracing and wood working skills. Perhaps consider an open baffle type.
Crossover or crossoverless
That intricate a crossover may give you a textbook frequency response, but I would think it sucks up dynamics like a sponge.
USBe Perfect Hookup??
OK, so the adaptors arrived and they hooked up easily. The sound is fantastic. Although I thought it was fantastic before that as well. At least it's not doing any harm, and I figure it's better there than in the box. So, everyone was correct, and...
USBe Perfect Hookup??
@ozzy You're absolutely right. I think I'm a lot like you, and I found a 3 pack of adaptors on Amazon for only $8.00. Two of the 3 are just what I need and will be delivered tomorrow. Thanks for your help. John
USBe Perfect Hookup??
@ozzy Thanks for posting. Have you by any chance tried using it in reverse. It's a very easy hook-up that way, but I don't know if it will even work. What are your thoughts?
USBe Perfect Hookup??
@steakster It seems you have tried it in reverse. That would be a very simple hook-up indeed. "Nothing will break", but did it pass a signal? If so, did you notice any sound difference. Of course I should get off my "A$$" and just try it, but I'm ...
USBe Perfect Hookup??
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but I have no place else to put it now that I have a streamer/DAC/Pre all in one. I recall a member Ozzy did this. I was hoping he would chime in with his thoughts.
Local pickup for speakers - should I let the buyer in the house or use the the garage?
Ozzy... I read you post fast and missed the word "whacker". I went and re-read it for clarification.
Luxman 509z or Aesthetix Mimas
Yeah, so all I would like to say to help you out is about the meters. I have a MAC amp and love it, but after a few days I stopped staring at the meters. They're cool and all that, but really, today I hardly notice them. Go for the best sound that...
Is My 7 Year Old Aires G1 Still Relevant?
Thank you everyone. I'm coming to the conclusion that my G1 feeding my Harmony DAC is probably not going to be improved upon dramatically unless I enter the +$10K arena (list price of course) for an "All in One" unit like the Bartok (used), or the...
Bass management--high/low pass filtering
I do have a Marchand XM66 that splits a 24db/oct. high and low at any selected frequency, but I'm only using it for the low pass while the mains get full range signal.
Bass management--high/low pass filtering
I'm not sure about my above question, and was hoping for some responses. Personally I think it's about a 50/50, but others more knowledgeable may have a better informed opinion.
Bass management--high/low pass filtering
Is it worth it to send the signal through another box of electronic junk just to eliminate frequencies below 80Hz? I'm not sure myself, so I am asking in earnest, not sarcastically. My main drivers (8") are running full range with no crossover at ...
??? WHY WHY WHY ??? Class A vs Everything Else
WTF?? where did that come from?
