Super Tweeters
I think that these super tweeters are helpful to the aging population of hi-fi hobbyists. As we age (50+) we loose some high freq. hearing ability. These ST replace what we are loosing, and we like it. We should all set up our systems the way we l...
ayre v-5xe has consistant noise after warm up
Something is vibrating in your amp. Use something non conductive like a wooden stick and try touching some caps and transformers to see if the noise changes or goes away. Once you find the reason then unplug the amp and try to work on reducing the...

salesperson recomends what do you think
Yes, they're fine speakers. I just heard the Sonus Faber small bookshelf speakers that are about $1,200. They were terrific!! I was very impressed with them for a small room.
External HD VS Flash Drive Sound Quality Question
What about using an SSD with the SATA to USB converter? I know they're expensive, but the available sizes 500 GB for about $350 would hold all those flash drives and you wouldn't need external power either. It would be like having a giant flash dr...

Speakers for VAC sigma 160i -- need inputs
I take it back. They're probably all good speakers. I have heard the coincidents and thought very highly of them. Just audition the Coincidents before you purchase. I think they would be a great match with the 160i.

New preamp experience
Mark, when I swapped out the W4S preamp and in went the Belles pre to match my Belles amp the sound became much more coherent as a system. That's not to say the Wyred 4 Sound pre-amp was no good because it is a well received unit that is excellent...
How to pack speakers w/out original boxes?
For packing material use swimming pool noodles. They are these hollow closed cell foam tubes about 4 feet long. Kids use them to help stay afloat. They are cheap in off-season if you can find them. Just cut them with a knife to the size you need.
