Diana Krall - New Vinyl - Good sound - Poor Vinyl
I just sent back my 2nd bad pressing of Classics/ Krall. This was supposed to be the newest pressing and fix the problem with the poor vinyl/pressing. I thought to give them a second try after they took care of the problem, unfortunately, another ...
Shuguang 845B vs Shuguang 845M
Hey guys..Slipped in a pair of "B"s and have to say..I like them better than my metal plates. They are 90% of the transparency, just a dynamic, but warmer and to my ears are smoother in the highs..just a tad softer and sweeter over the metal's..Ba...
Zu Druid questions
Jack,I agree that your room at those dimensions are not doing the Ushers well. One thing I wanted was a better near field speaker, and would say that the Druids fit that requirement very well. My room is 19 x22 x 8 and I still thought the Ushers (...

Duke,Thanks. I did get that part of your post, and appreciate the support for explaining how the Druids can sound despite the measurements, especially those specs that appear in the review of Soundstage.(I have some thoughts on that at the end of ...

Telefunken 6SN7GTA [PHOTO HERE][GT: ??? GTA: top getter, white labels on glass, black base, round mica with diamond points scattered around it]GT: This tube certainly lives up to its ‘legendary’ status. Why? Because it never existed. 6SN7s were NE...

Dared VP-845 Bias Adjustment? 845W Tubes?
Brian..No mods. None planned. Love the sound just as it is. I run a Melos Phono pre amp into one of the line inputs. If I ever got a sub..I'd run it off the speaker level, so not concerned about a line sub out on mine.I saw your other thread regar...

Dared VP-845 Bias Adjustment? 845W Tubes?
Brian,The bias is self adjusting on this amp.Not sure about the difference between those tubes. I have the metal plates from Sophia Electric and absolutely love them..much better across the board than the stock 845 IMO.Ken
SET amps and speaker sensitivity.
A good rule of thumb for watt/dB combinations is 4w/93dB where every 3dB decrease in speaker sensitivity requires double the power wattage from the amp. Hence, 8w/90dB, 16w/87B, 32w/84dB and so on. This was taken from a review of the Dared 845 amp...
