I owned 3 pairs of 1.6's over the years..Never with the Jolida 502, but at one time ( first amp) did pair them with Quicksilver M60 monoblocks at 60W/ch. and used KT-88 tubes. As long as I didnt push the Maggies, they sounded great low to moderate...
most difficult speaker to please
Im definitely gonna second Dave's Apogee Scintilla. Loved the sound..but that 1 ohm load was a killer on all but a select handful of amps that could drive them back then..
most difficult speaker to please
I literally saw an small Adcom 60W/Ch amp go up in smoke trying to drive a pair of the orig. M-L CLS speakers... Luckily it was the dealers misfortune and not anyone who owned it! ;-)

What's your favorite remake of a song
I'll second Rebecca Pidgeon's version of Spanish Harlem on Chesky Records. It was released by Ben E. King in 61 Though I think it was written by Phil Spector and Jerry Leiber . Quite nicely done.
What's your favorite remake of a song
I like Queen Latifa's remake of Phoebe Snow's "Poetry Man"

Dan Fogelberg Succumbs to Cancer
I grew up with his music. Many fond and bittersweet memories during the late 70's. His music was an inspiration for me during that time.According to his official web site. He died at home in Maine at 6:00am this morning with his wife Jean by his s...
