+++atdavid Interesting that those on this forum who have a professional history of working in the scientific/engineering/physics field; those who work or have a long history of working in the engineering/mixing/producing end of making music; those...

@teo_audio Not trying to be a kill all  - It just seems a lot like someone pushing someone else's $10K power cord to augment their $10K power re-generator and convince us that it takes one to make the other sound good. Not all, but most designers a...

@zalive I agree with the effectiveness of using affordable, readily available products and methods to achieve some very effective tweaks, Having been professionally involved in the industrial tech. industry, dealing with the effects of vibration, ...

Just purchased an incredible $10K power amp. It brought my whole system to life - a huge deep stage, with detail, texture and timber I could never have imagined. WOW! just replaced my old ICs! The new $5K ICs make such an improvement on my $10K am...
Do any of these interest you at all? (If you had the money)(Which I don't)
A very interesting list of speakers. Even if I had the money and space, there are speakers available at a fraction of the cost of the least expensive of these, that I would choose over any of the ridiculously priced speakers on this list.......Jim
Are you buying the right interconnects ?
MIT? Massachusetts Institute of Technology? How prestigious is that? Oh right, MIT cables actually has nothing to do with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - amazing how many audio buffs I've talked to over the years who thought there was ...
Considering simplifying my system... talk me down (or whatever)
At 68, I share your sentiment. Like my wife, I have a hard time letting go of things I like. Recently I moved from separates to a Rogue Integrated tube, only because it was past time for my most loved 33 year old Audible Illusions Pre. to be sent ...
Recommend speakers for a large living room
With your budget and the amount of space to fill - hands down I would choose either the Sound Lab 845s, 945s or the Maggie 30.7s. Either, when set up properly ( in the location of your red dots would work great - just would have to experiment with...
I am Looking for That Elusive 3 Dimensional Room Filling Soundstage
@pokey77  Mbl......Realy? Let us know where one might find a pr. of Mbl used, much less new for anywhere remotely close to $2,000.00 @eag618 - OP........I have a budget of $2000 for the next little babies so let’s not talk about Focal uber expensi...
I am Looking for That Elusive 3 Dimensional Room Filling Soundstage
For a large 3D stage in a small room, and under $2K, I would, hands down, would go with either little Maggnapan LRS. or the small Ohm Walsh. Either way you would need treatment, ie. acoustic drapes or panels on the wall behind the speakers and hav...
Best speakers 5k 10 k
+1 for the Magnepan 3.7i. Even the smaller 1.7i, at just over $2K, makes a bigger, more realistic stage - with fine detail and timber (whether seated in or out of the sweet spot) than anything near it’s price.Jim
TRL WON'T GIVE ME MY AMP
After all this time, would have been nice to have something done to address your original problem, but at least will be good to get your amp back. Let us know if and when that happens.Jim
An enjoyable evening watching "Country Music Live At The Ryman" on AZ PBS.
The Wife and I also just finished watching the CM documentary and liked it a lot. We certainly learned some things we didn’t know about the life and turmoiled journeys of many of America’s legendary country stars.Defiantly it was an inspiration to...
Speaker Imaging - Do you hear a line, or do you hear an arc??
It depends in varying degrees on the recording, how deep and how wide the stage is and how well placed are all the instruments and vocals, but always, my Maggie 1.7s disappear from the performance. On good recordings, regardless of where I set or ...
Maggie owners (past, present, future) what do (did) you love and or dislike about them?
@mewsickbuff Regarding the large sound stage, I agree with Mike, I've never been to a live performance where, when seated or standing 5th or 6th row, the performance didn't sound large.Speaker placement, sometimes even 1/2" one way or another, is ...
