How far away from your speakers are you?
With my maggie 1.7s I have them 6.5’ apart, center to center (5' edge to edge) with the tweeter ribbons to the outside. They are exactly 41.5" from inside back edge of speaker to the wall behind and 42.5" from outside back edge of speaker to the w...
Is it all worth it?
I still have and listen to my old LPs and occasionally pick up a new vinyl, but at the prospects of soon replacing an expensive (short lived) cartridge and with the convince and the much improved sound quality of both CD and streaming, my enthusia...
These seem a bit pricey $$$
Since I'm retired and somewhat on a fixed income - price no mater, does not apply. Value is and actually, has always been important to me. Whether it's audio gear, automobiles, optics or other, to me, there are four parameters on which I base valu...
How good can it get, really? - my stereo sounds amazing!
@hdbc3036  :-)Have to admit - a cold brew or a couple of wines may have something to do with the enjoyment of my late evening audio sessions....Jim
How good can it get, really? - my stereo sounds amazing!
@davegardner OPI feel the same. In all, I am very pleased with my system, in my space. My little pair of Maggies, very well integrated with a ADS sub and driven by a Cronus Mag II and meticulously set up, in a well treated room, sounds incredible. ...
Can you put a Krell in an apartment?
Could not and should not is sometimes two different things. As pointed out by oddio there is a bit of nonsense, at least mis-understanding, here. By law, any device, appliance, or component actually requiring a 20A circuit must be equipped with or ...
Which to Upgrade first? My Amplifier or Speakers?
Hi Norman, We haven't heard anything back from you since your first post.Would be interesting to know if and how your room is treated, what type of music do you enjoy. It seems you are quite happy with the job your current system does on the music...
Blown away with 2 speakers hifi sound!
@gongli3 Understand what you mean.Even though it’s the whole of the system, it’s set up and the room, that determines the sound and stage - it is the speakers that delivers the magic. Good speakers, properly set up, let us know how well, or not, e...

+++atdavid Interesting that those on this forum who have a professional history of working in the scientific/engineering/physics field; those who work or have a long history of working in the engineering/mixing/producing end of making music; those...

@teo_audio Not trying to be a kill all  - It just seems a lot like someone pushing someone else's $10K power cord to augment their $10K power re-generator and convince us that it takes one to make the other sound good. Not all, but most designers a...

Just purchased an incredible $10K power amp. It brought my whole system to life - a huge deep stage, with detail, texture and timber I could never have imagined. WOW! just replaced my old ICs! The new $5K ICs make such an improvement on my $10K am...
Do any of these interest you at all? (If you had the money)(Which I don't)
A very interesting list of speakers. Even if I had the money and space, there are speakers available at a fraction of the cost of the least expensive of these, that I would choose over any of the ridiculously priced speakers on this list.......Jim
